I never give reviews but WOW.....

What did you love best about The Edge of Never?

I loved everything about this book! I had no idea what to expect when I started this book. I've been seeing great reviews on the Goodread website so I was excited to see it available thru Audible. The characters are beautiful, story is wonderful, and I fell head over heels fast with Andrew. He's hot, sexy, passionate, dominant, funny, strong, and yet he is sensitive. This book has some definitely steamy parts! I think this book was well written and well performed by Lauren Fortgang. This book hits you in all the right places! It has its sincere moments, funny moments, passionate moments and I was even a blubbering tissue blowing mess towards the end. This is by far is my new favorite book! It surpassed all of my other favorites straight to the top! BUY THIS BOOK!

Who was your favorite character and why?

I absolutely love Andrew Parrish. He is everything a girl could dream of for a perfect man!!

Which character – as performed by Lauren Fortgang – was your favorite?

She did a fabulous job with all of them! I will definitely look for more of her narrations!

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes Yes Yes..in fact, this book was worth being sleep deproved the next day for work!

Any additional comments?

I hope Audible gets the sequel that is due to come out in November. I wish Audible would start a genre on New Adult Romance not just Contemporary Romance. There are some very popluar books out that I'm dying to hear rather than just read. I would spend more money on credits if more new adult romance books were released on Audible!

This one surprised me.

I am a 50 something listener and halfway through the first chapter was sure I'd made a poor selection. The life of twenty somethings for whom money is never a consideration couldn't be more foreign. But, I stuck it out and was glad. This story turned out to be about universal and ageless themes.Yes, it's told from a different perspective than mine and yes..there were a few scenes where our couple displayed really silly behavior that was inconsiderate of those around them. (note to twenty somethings...lewd conversations held publicly to shock "old people" are not witty, not charming, not amusing. Okay, a personal peeve of mine). Despite these distractions, I recommend this story to any adult listener. As another listener commented, this could be a good young adult read if one edited the sex scenes. (There aren't that many).

The narrator is a little slower than I normally like, but eventually I grew more comfortable and found her voice and cadence relaxing and almost meditative.

In summary, this book was written, I think, for a young audience, so a more mature reader may be irritated by some parts of the story, but the writer is quite good, so it makes it worth a few aggravating moments to experience the story. Oh yeah, I cried..no I sobbed...and I am NOT a crier. Really, this writer is good.

A good love story

Sometimes these reviews are hard to write because you don’t want to give away any spoilers. Ugh! If you’re a fan of love stories then you’ll like this one. If you believe in fate then you’ll like this one.

Camryn is unsatisfied with her life. She thought she lost the love of her life in a car accident when she was in high school. After she has a falling out with her best friend she just decided to get on a bus and just go. She has no destination in mind. She just wants to see the world.

Andrew’s father is dying. Instead of flying he takes the bus instead. He does not want to see his father die. There’s allot of things Andrew does not want to face. He never expected to find the love of his life on a bus. So just when you think they have found happiness a terrible secret comes to light and you wonder if there’s going to be a happy ever after or not.

So is this worth a credit? Yes! For those of you with concerns with sexual content, I would say it’s mild and not very much content in the story.

I couldn't finish it

What would have made The Edge of Never better?

Oh my, sorry to give a bad review but -- sooooooooooo boring. One of the main characters is a man and the other a woman. The chapters flip back and forth between characters but the narrator sounds the same in both, so I kept forgetting which was which. Very long and drawn out. No real "action".

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

The beginning was OK middle was so long and boring that I didn't finish it.

Reminds me of "The Notebook"

I found this story to be a charming classic love story. The emotion and passion reminds me of Nicholas Sparks book The Notebook. The two main characters go through a journey of discovery together. Sometimes everyone needs to break away from the ordinary to discover the extraordinary. The love scenes are detailed but their are not many. Some one else claimed that this story is similar to "50 Shades of Gray" and "The Crossfire Series" but I disagree. The story is not as sexual or filled with angst but instead classic passionate love story. The narrator did a wonderful job and I was very happy with this book!

Just Wow!!!!

Best listen in a long time. Read the reviews online and decided to use my credit. Boy was it worth it! I was pulled in from the beginning and by the end I was crying. Bring the tissues.

Wow what a journey....

This book is like a roller coaster ride it plummets you down so fast and then just as fast whooshes to up into the clouds. I absolutely loved the first part of the book and the second half, well, for me, for a little while it becames immature but I think this is YA anyway. Then it just took my emotions and rung them out....I haven't listened to a book like this in a very long time. It is a LOVE STORY...that comes outta nowhere. Wonderfully narrated. Great production. This one is a grabber..I know I won't forget this book.

This Book Has It All

The Edge of Never had the perfect blend. It was everything I would want out of this genre. You had your edgy hot sex scenes and plot! imagine that. The sex scenes were pretty steamy and I loved it. There was a real nice slow burn leading up to them. The sexual tension grew as the story progressed and when things finally heated up, I was cheering for them. What I loved the most about the romantic situation is that they meant something to each other by then.

So the book starts out with Camryn. She's going through some hard times.. depression sucks. Something happens, I won't elaborate on what, but it pretty much breaks the last straw for her and I can imagine why. That would probably do me in too. So she's off, with a small bag to wherever the Greyhound bus will take her.

The Edge of Never sucked me in pretty quickly, because I was so curious what this trip would bring and where it would take her. She meets a guy, Andrew Perrish. He's also on the bus for different reasons. I adored their interactions. I was also pleasantly surprised when I realized Andrew has some POV chapters.

I really enjoyed this book. The adventure, the message, the sadness, and over all just the whole feel of the book. Then ending though, it totally caught me off guard.

I loved The Edge of Never. So glad I gave it a try. You should too!

Lauren Fortgang did a great job with the delivery of the story.

Too Slow-Disappointed

I bought this after seeing all of the good reviews, but I was disappointed. It's a long book, and not much happens until the end. It's very drawn out and too slow for my tastes - it didn't hold my interest.
