Publisher's summary

An eccentric Earl hires an actor to help him seduce his wife. My name is Henry, Earl of Freemont and I am an eccentric. My inability to read people’s expressions makes it difficult for me to connect with strangers. When I met Charlotte , I knew she was the woman I wanted to marry. Unlike the other society ladies, she treated me like a man and not as an aberration. I was excited to start my new life with her, but our wedding night proved a disaster. Determined to find a way to make things right between us, I hired Trick, an actor, to help me woo my wife. After the first time Trick kissed me, things became complicated. I still loved Charlotte and desired her like no other. But I desired Trick as well.

Virtual Voice improving! Explicit MFM sex story

The fake accents of so many historical romance narrators having gotten on my last nerve, I turned to Virtual Voice.
It has come a long way and is now tolerable! If you need fewer cringeworthy mispronunciations, infantile lead voices,
and abrasively bad fake accents it is worth a try now.

This title we listened to at near 2x speed and while there are inflection issues, I find that I prefer Virtual Voice to a bad narrator now. After a few minutes it sounds.... neutral and I appreciate the consistency. It does not hold a candle to a GOOD narrator, but especially for titles that don't require a credit (Plus catalog) I think it's great to have such an influx of new choices on Audible.

The story is porn-y: Virgin couple has bad sex and a sex worker sensitively helps them and becomes their "friend."

I would rather have had this be a more equally 3 way relationship rather than a couple hiring a third they are fond of, but having this content on a mainstream platform feels rather progressive as it is so I won't quibble. After a rash of Christian historical romance suggestions this is a relief. Non-neural-normative main character, and a woman buying a vibrator = refreshing within the genre. YMMV.

well scripted

A I mispronounced and wrong words were annoying. It would have been much better with a person with the grasp of the English language.

The narration is obnoxious

The story was naughty and I approve;) But the AI narration makes it so hard to listen to the book! There’s no inflection and is monotone. There are times I had to really focus to be sure which character was supposed to be speaking. I’ll stick to books with humans narrating.
