Last I'll read by this author

Old friends to lovers is a favorite plot device. This story is not terrible but the writing is. I was hoping that the author - and narrator - would improve by the third book but no such luck.

As an audio listener, I miss the punctuation and spelling errors. But incorrect words and phrases are jarring. The author still uses "could care less." Was the word Daddy used in this time period? I'm not sure. But the continuity was off. On one occasion the author states that this was the first time the couple had been alone. It wasn't. Another time, she says that this was the first time the girls had been separated. It wasn't. Things like this should be caught by a good editor and I wonder if the author is her own editor.

And the narrator is not good. Why do the children sound like Americans? The reader has been doing this throughout the series. Very distracting.

Finally, I have to say something about the production. When the book is finished we go directly into Chapter 1 of another book. In this case, I believe it's the previous book. No announcement; nothing to tell the listener what it is. Sloppy production.

I won't listen to more by this author or this narrator.

Sweet Steamy Romance for 18+ Readers

This was a fun story, it has great character development, a really entertaining plot, and steamy romance. In the other books in this series the romance takes place after marriage and I have to admit some frustration that this strong female character comes off rather weak with her morality yet she constantly worries about what others will think. The narrator does great job on this book; her voice for kids needs some work as it is the only voice with an American accent that doesn't fit the rest of the story. In terms of movie rating this book would be rated R due to sexual content-- it keeps the door wide open with lots of description given, so it's definitely an 18+ read. —I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Not Bad

This book was not bad. I think that the story was good and both the hero and heroin are likable. I may read the other books in this series.

Good series,good narration.

Really like the author, however, would be better without the smut. I hate elicit scenes, I’m married, I don’t need details! “Their kiss deepened, he picked her up and carried her to the bed.” Period! We know what happens after that! I want a sweet love story, not elicit sex scenes that I have to fast forward through.

Pretty boring

I don’t know exactly what was wrong with this. It was boring, slow, had no real love connection, she was annoying, and the 2 love scenes were pretty boring. I found my mind wandering at times or not really wanting to listen. It started out nice and exciting but lost all its luster. I don’t think I’ll want to try this author again.

The best regency romance ever!

This book has been in my library for a while and I so regret not reading it sooner. This is the absolute best regency romance I have ever read in my whole life. GL Snodgrass is my favorite regency author and is a genius when it comes to plots and in this case resolutions. The narrator as always was excellent the story excellent the ending the best ever! If you are undecided about what book to get look no further you found it, I absolutely love this story!
