Publisher's summary

The breathtaking sequel to the all-time classic The Eagle Has Landed, reissued for a new generation

The greatest World War Two story of all time is not over....

By the end of 1943, all evidence of the abortive German attempt to assassinate Winston Churchill has been carefully buried in an unmarked grave in the Norfolk village of Studley Constable.

But two of the most wanted ringleaders are still alive....

In the fourth hard winter of war, British Intelligence pick up disturbing reports from Heinrich Himmler’s power base in Wewelsburg Castle. The mission is not yet accomplished. For the Fatherland, the Reichsfuhrer is demanding the Eagle’s return....

What was that?

It is tough to be critical but reviewers owe it to others who are about to spend their cash.
Firstly - if you think the book itself is comparable in any way to The Eagle Has Landed, then stop there. It is not! The story is shockingly bad and most probably hastily written. Cashing in on the original springs to mind. What was Higgins thinking of!!! It is full of cringe and cheesy dialogue. It is REALLY bad. You have been warned.
As to the audio book? Prepare yourself, it is worse, if that is possible, for it to be read aloud by a good narrator who attempts to use an Irish accent on THREE separate characters. For those of you expecting anything near Donald Sutherland's Liam Devlin, forget it. The Devlin voice in this is ANYTHING but Irish. It is a woeful accent, so bad I can never watch the original movie again as it is now attached to this shocker. The narrator also uses an Irish accent on a man called Ryan and that's when I began to understand self-harm. But the narrator didn't stop there - he did a female Irish accent. I cannot begin to tell you how disturbing this was. An absolute shocker. AVOID!!!

Good story - awful reading

One of those which might have been entertaining except for the reading. Irritatingly bad choice of voice and laughable performance in places with accents all wrong and amateur delivery. Ruined it for me.

Should have been made into a film

A superb sequel and well worth a listen. Beautifully narrated and gripping to the end.
