good intro to Lovecraft

Lovecraft and his creation Cthulhu hover at the edges of Anglophone letters just enough to make you feel like you should understand his oeuvre as a cultural reference point even if you're not going to consume the whole thing. And I've tried Lovecraft before without getting drawn in or even finishing one story, so, by dint of getting through this and "getting" it, I think Ron Welch's reading of this was a good effort. His delivery is a bit overstated--as if he were telling a ghost-story around a camp fire (emphasis on "camp")--but I think the text would lead any reader down that path. I'd probably even say that listening to Lovecraft is better than reading it. To Ron, please man, "Whateley" is pronounced "Watley," not wuh-TEL-ly.
