I enjoyed listening to Billy's story and seeing updates on Hannah and Eli from book one. The character choice for the continuation of the series makes sense rather than being some random character that we met briefly in book one. The narration helps to depict where the dialogue switches to other characters. Random humorous moments, which fit Billy's personality, are perfectly placed to help break the tension. I was particularly laughing at the description of the pastor on the horse. Definitely worth a listen!

action-filled sweet romance

I love the way this story pointed out that appearances aren’t everything. Mirabelle’s parents were dead wrong in their judgements about two people, causing a dangerous situation.
Billy and Mirabelle just knew they were meant for each other and I thought that was priceless.
Spencer Dillehey’s narration was wonderful, and Sarah Lamb’s story was intriguing as always, keeping me turning the pages. Can’t wait to start on the next in this series!

This was a sweet, clean western style historical romance that was fun to listen to. Sometimes the fmc made me roll my eyes at how clueless and naive she was, but that’s just gave the mmc more chances to rescue her. The happy ending, along with her father’s re-evaluation of her autonomy in her own life left me feeling satisfied and happy with the story. I loved how the gunslingers treated the women in this story and in the other books in the series!

A short story that will keep you flipping those pages and for me to keep listening because I listened to the audiobook.
I loved the characters and the plot.
I liked the main character when I “met” him in the first book titled “The Gunslinger”. You can read this one first but you would enjoy it most if you read book one.
Billy and Mirabelle has a hard time getting to know each other because Mirabell’s parents are against her talking to a gunslinger. I enjoyed the way they both kept trying to see and talk to each other. Billy was on alert all the time trying to keep Mirabelle safe. Well it finally comes down to a life or death situation. Can Billy save her or will the other men take her? Very interesting!
This is part of the Red Ridge Chronicles Series. It’s a clean historical Western book that I think you will enjoy.
I received a copy from the author but was not required to write a positive review. All opinions are my own.

I met Billy, the main male character, in The Gunslinger (Book 1 of this series) and could tell he had a good heart. You can read in any order, but I think the book would be more enjoyable if you did read or listen to book 1 first.

That being said, I really enjoyed this story. This author does a great job developing her characters and writes interesting plots, with enough suspense to keep you intrigued.

Mirabelle, the pastor's daughter, caught Billy's eye, and he approached her dad about calling on her. Her father told him no because of his profession; he just wasn't what he wanted for his daughter. They still saw and talked to each other occasionally, but Mirabelle was forced to allow someone else to court her. However, this man wasn't who he said he was. Billy's intuition and watchful eye let him know that something was amiss. And sure enough... he was right. The plot thickens, and much happens... You will need to read/listen to find out what and how it ends. However, I do believe you will enjoy this clean and wholesome book.

I listened to a complimentary audio of this. The narration was done very well. The voices from one character to the next were easy to follow. I am voluntarily leaving this review.

Very Enjoyable
