Publisher's summary

Why have the angels forsaken us when demons and devils destroy our world?

Kasai and Desdemonia escape the Abyss and travel to the Seven Heavens in hopes of salvation, only to be accused of consorting with the enemy and imprisoned for treason on their arrival. Meanwhile, a new threat from beyond time wakes, driven mad by the scent of fresh souls leaking from the Chaos Gate. The Ancients are coming, and they are hungry.

All the while, the Three Kingdoms are left defenseless to Sekka’s rampaging hordes of demons. The Soul War has begun, and the Ever Hero is needed like never before. However, Kasai’s fate and that of the Mortal Realm, will be decided by Raguel, the archangel with a personal vendetta against Aetenos. And how better to enact his revenge on the demigod than to destroy his progeny?

If you enjoy an engaging story, pitting the underdog against overwhelming odds, with dark powers turning would-be heroes into finger puppets, and mad ambition which throws worlds into conflict, you’ll love the third installment in Jeff Pantanella’s captivating Ever Hero Saga.

A perfect fit for epic fantasy fans of Brandon Sanderson, Robert Jordan, Michael J. Sullivan, Edward W. Robertson, Patrick Rothfuss, and Michael Wisehart.

INTERVIEW WITH THE AUTHOR

Q.–So, what makes the Ever Hero Saga series so special?

A.—It’s a mix of things, really. When I set out to write these books, I wanted to create something that mirrored exactly the kind of books I like to read. My top picks are usually epic fantasy and dark fantasy novels, any of the thousands of sword and sorcery, or metaphysical journey best sellers, and of course, books featuring your classic heroes. Basically, anything with a kick-butt, action adventure attitude and fast-paced style gets my vote.

The Ever Hero Saga books are a great mix of these genres. You’ll find the series focused on the magic genre overall, with lots of wizards, witches, djinns, and mystics, but there is also a fair dose of angels, devils, demons, knights, kings, and thieves. The main hero is a mystic monk with special martial arts skills and it’s really his coming of age journey that is important in the first three books in the series.

The Ever Hero Saga is designed to keep you turning the pages–and I’ve made sure there is never a dull moment.

Q.–What order should I read the books in?

A.–The first three books go in a particular order as the main characters are established and travel along their journey arc. After that, a new arc is created for the ones that live and we go from there.

  • Sekka (Origins Novella)
  • The Chaos Gate
  • The Foe Wars
  • The Divine Fist
  • The Forgotten Gods
  • Oblivion (coming soon)

Q.–So, why should readers give these books a try?

A.–Because the Ever Hero Saga is a fast, fun, adventure that takes no prisoners! Readers who enjoy lightning-fast pacing with a plot that twists and turns all the way to the end will get a kick out of this series.

Ultimately, the story is about finding your personal courage in the face of insurmountable odds, digging deep, and unleashing your power. We all have it in us, but sometimes we forget it's there or how to reach it.

a virtual page turner

I loved this story. You know it's good when you find yourself talking to yourself about how horrible a character is. And how much you want them to suffer.

I'd say it wrapped up a little too fast at the very end. And the drama and suffering dragged on a bit too long. I mean a lot of people die in the story and to me it feels like everyone kind of gets over it too fast. but maybe that's just the personal thing. can't wait to see how the hero continues to grow into himself and his power.
