Very Confusing

I thoroughly enjoyed the first two books. However, this one left me scratching my head. There was so much introspective talking and saying the same things over and over. Her demon boyfriend had proved in so many ways that he was devoted to her and had her best interests at heart. Yet she still refused to trust him, and work with him unquestionably. The story really dragged, finding the four demons didn't happen until the last quarter of the book. The previous books had lots of action but this one didn't. I was so disappointed.

Such high hopes...

The MC turns into a wiffle waffling wet blanket—her personality is so altered from the first book. 70% of this book is spent in her head ruminating the same issue over..and over...and over. The “plot” is more of a footnote. The conflict between Dante and Jaf, figuring out their relationship could be handled in 5 minutes of conversation. Instead they go round and round. She whines...he responds with the same answer. Rinse and repeat. It’s a shame there are so few action scenes. Those there are, are very well written. The narration gets annoying when she is trying to convey sarcasm. Her accents are pretty good and she did a good job portraying a whining MC—perhaps too good. I just can’t take on the next book.
