The Devil Within is a cinematic podcast about the stories that refuse to die — the legends, disappearances, curses, and supernatural encounters that linger long after the world moves on. Each episode blends history, folklore, and investigation to explore what really happened… and why these stories still haunt us. From mythical creatures and haunted places, to strange crimes and unexplained phenomena, The Devil Within starts where the facts end — and the unanswered questions begin. New episodes weekly. Bring a light. You may need it. BINGE THE FIRST FOUR SEASONS NOW! Season 1: The Jersey Devil - The brutal slaying of BETTY ANN SULLIVAN shocked the small town of Jefferson Township, New Jersey. The violence of that evening shocked the nation for the perpetrator... was her own son, a boy of fourteen who would take his own life only hours later. What the investigation revealed left a community in tatters, unwilling to believe the evil that had befallen them. Season 2: The Demons of Yorkshire - In 1974 after experiencing financial hardship, Michael Taylor joined a local church in the rolling hills of Northern England. After falling in love with a young, beautiful preacher, Michael’s personality began to change. The mild-mannered family man became abusive and unhinged. His new church believed he was possessed by no fewer than 48 demons and would require an exorcism to save his soul and protect his family from evil. But the supposed remedy would come at a very steep price... Season 3: A Season in Hell - In the late 1970's New York City had it all: Hip Hop, Punk Rock... and the Son of Sam. The third season of The Devil Within takes listeners into the belly of the beast and explores the wicked origins, reign of terror and ultimate capture of one of the most feared serial killers in history. With exclusive interviews from journalists, FBI agents, historians and mental health experts this season promises to be the most comprehensive - and most terrifying - account of how one man brought New York City to a standstill. Season 4: Satan's Shadow - In the 1980s, California learned that fear doesn’t always lurk in the dark. Sometimes, it walks right through the door. SATAN’S SHADOW follows the terrifying rise of Richard Ramirez — the Night Stalker — while tracing his crimes alongside Dante Alighieri’s Inferno. As Ramirez descends deeper into violence, we descend with him through Dante’s circles of hell, asking what happens to a city — and a soul — when darkness becomes a spectacle. Across nine episodes, each chapter pairs the facts of the case with a brief lesson from Dante: desire twisted into obsession, cruelty masquerading as power, betrayal, violence, and the chilling fascination that draws us closer instead of pushing us away. Because Ramirez didn’t just kill. He captivated. He made the world watch — and forced us to confront the part of ourselves that can’t look away. Bonus episodes explore the trial, aftermath, and the myths that followed — along with glimpses into Purgatorio and Paradiso, and whether redemption or meaning is possible after horror. SATAN’S SHADOW isn’t only about a murderer. It’s about a culture slowly walking toward darkness… and what it costs to climb back out.011338 Biografías y Memorias Crímenes Reales

  • The Pope Lick Monster - Part Two: The Spreading Shadow
    Apr 3 2026
🌑 Episode Two: The Spreading Shadow At first, it was just one place. One bridge. One legend. But that’s no longer the case. Because what researchers—and law enforcement—have begun to uncover is far more unsettling: The Pope Lick Monster isn’t alone. 🧬 In This Episode: Evidence suggesting multiple creatures operating simultaneously Expansion of sightings across railroad crossings and multiple states Cases involving cell phone mimicry and digital voice replication The emergence of coordinated hunting behavior Scientific findings pointing to a previously unknown species 📡 The Evolution What began as simple mimicry has become something far more advanced. Voices pulled from memory. Voices pulled from technology. Even entire conversations recreated with terrifying accuracy. Victims aren’t just being called. They’re being targeted. 🌍 The Expansion Railroad lines. Isolated crossings. Places where escape is limited and timing is everything. The pattern is clear: This isn’t random. It’s strategic. And it’s spreading. 🎯 The Takeaway Some predators adapt to survive. Others adapt to hunt better. And this one… Is learning. 🎙️ Follow & Stay Connected Follow The Devil Within on Apple Podcasts and Spotify, and subscribe on YouTube for full episodes and exclusive content. 📱 Socials Instagram: @thedevilwithinpod Instagram: @idesofaprilpod Instagram: @taboo_treasures YouTube: Evio Creative Network Website: eviocreative.com 🚨 Network Call to Action If you’re enjoying The Devil Within, explore the full Evio Creative Network: 🎧 The Ides of April — history’s most consequential moments, told cinematically🎭 Criminal Mischief — unforgettable characters behind real crimes🎤 Finding Me with Josh Wolf — daily accountability and real-time growth🕯️ Taboo Treasures — the darkest stories behind rare artifacts Follow, subscribe, and share your favorite shows. 🔥 Final CTA If this episode stayed with you—share it. • The Pope Lick Monster: Trestle of the Damned
    Apr 1 2026
The Pope Lick Monster 🌉 Episode One: The Trestle of the Damned It starts with a bridge. A steel trestle stretching across a dark Kentucky valley—built for trains, not for people. And yet… people keep finding their way onto it. Late at night.
Alone.
Drawn there by something they can’t quite explain. For decades, the Pope Lick trestle has been the site of documented deaths—not random accidents, but eerily consistent incidents involving people who should have known better. Experienced outdoorsmen.
Railroad workers.
Law enforcement. All ending up on the tracks. All at the wrong moment. All claiming, in some form or another… That something called them there. 🧠 In This Episode: The history of the Pope Lick railroad trestle and its pattern of fatalities Eyewitness descriptions of a humanoid, horned creature The creature’s most disturbing ability: vocal mimicry Cases where victims were lured using voices of loved ones The phenomenon of psychological manipulation overriding survival instincts 🗣️ The Calling Voice Survivors describe it the same way: A voice in the dark. Familiar.
Personal.
Impossible. Calling your name. And even when you know something is wrong… You keep walking. 🎯 The Takeaway This isn’t just a creature that hunts. It’s a predator that understands us. And uses that understanding against us. 📱 Socials • Instagram: @thedevilwithinpod • Instagram: @idesofaprilpod • Instagram: @taboo_treasures • YouTube: Evio Creative Network • Website: eviocreative.com 🚨 Network Call to Action Explore the full Evio Creative Network: 🎧 The Devil Within — where folklore meets documented reality

  • EVIO Presents: The Parade, Part One: The Assassination of Anwar Sadat
    Mar 31 2026
🎧 The Ides of April The Parade: The Assassination of Anwar Sadat 🏛️ Episode One: The Hero’s Welcome Cairo. October 6th, 1981. A perfect morning.
A nation celebrating victory.
A president at the height of his power. And a moment—just seconds long—that will change everything. Anwar Sadat stands before a cheering crowd, marking the anniversary of the October War—the defining triumph of his presidency. He is a man who has survived prison, revolution, war, and political betrayal. A man who believes—deeply—that history is shaped by those willing to act. But the salute he rises to receive… Is not a salute at all. 🧠 In This Episode: The early life of Anwar Sadat—from rural Egypt to revolutionary His radicalization under British occupation and time in prison The rise of the Free Officers Movement and the shadow of Gamal Abdel Nasser The 1973 war and the restoration of Egyptian national pride The unprecedented decision to make peace with Israel—and its consequences ✈️ The Point of No Return In 1977, Sadat flies to Israel. He stands before the Knesset.
He speaks of peace. And in doing so— He redraws the map of the Middle East. He also signs his own death warrant. ⚖️ The Shift To some, he is a visionary. To others— A traitor. Pamphlets begin circulating.
Arguments turn theological. And somewhere inside Egypt… A plan begins to form. 🎯 The Takeaway Sadat believed one man could change history. He was right. But history has a cost. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices

I am halfway through this, but had to stop and review. The creator of this podcast is so grossly ignorant of Catholicism, Catholic education, and teen psychology that it makes this hard to listen to. There’s an obvious anti-Catholic bias. He makes it sound like teaching world religions is an unusual thing. Every Catholic high school teaches world religions. He also dramatizes how frequently the church talks about the antichrist which is not a major focus in Catholic education at all. So many things that he states as fact are flat out incorrect. I guess Dungeons and Dragons is also going to be blamed for turning this kid into a satanist. This is so poorly researched compared to other Wondery podcasts that I’ve listened to.

Ignorant Assumptions

Season One is not available, so I went straight into season two. While this is a horrific crime, I feel like there wasn't much information regarding the religious/demonic aspect that seemed to be substantiated. Some of the story details regarding the exorcism seemed vague. Some leaps taken. A bit referencing The Exorcist is thrown in for good measure.

Meh

Absolutely infuriating that they are passing this off as a true crime podcast. Episode 1 is the only episode that isn’t almost complete nonsense. What’s worse - the nonsense is that the Devil made him do it. Really?! If they didn’t advertise this as true crime, it would be fine but it’s a huge disappointment if you were hoping for actual insights. Skip it.

Based on true crime, not a true crime podcast

it calls itself true crime but its about as true as stories that are 'inspired' by true events. the production quality is good, which is sad to see wasted on such garbage. This is a work of fiction for the religious right and nothing more.

Fiction that bills itself fact

I thought this was true crime and it was a fantastical work of fiction that gave credence to the satanic panic…. HUGE disappointment. I usually love wondery but this has almost ruined them for me, in terms of credibility at least.

Absolutely terrible
