Interesting, exciting

Great story. Pace a bit allow. hope the next book picks it up a bit.

A fun youthful contemporary scifi thriller

Teens and adults work together in smart, angst free battle of minds to take down the bad guys. Steady flow of a thriller with no lows but also no high tension burn out . Kate Rudd, the narrator, is once again a pleasure reading well everything from streetwise teen girl to demented sociopath.

Great story

this is the settings book ive read in this series. the author is a wonderful storyteller. she keeps everything grounded at the feelings level, which is a refreshing change when out comes to authors writing about the paranormal. I can't wait to read the next book in the series.

I liked the story BUT....

Very interesting story & probably could be a movie BUT the narrator drove me crazy!! Sounds like a robot is speaking, with greatly enunciated words and small pauses. The only reason that I got through this book and the first one was because I liked the story so much.

How am I supposed to wait for part 3???? Amazing performance! So easy to differentiate characters. Story is awesome. Just all around a great series for anyone.

Enjoyable sequel, but again with a trigger warning

I started listening to the sequel on my drive back from out of state. I love all the different gifted powers characters have. Again, I was completely engrossed, but there could be triggers for survivors of violence, or anyone who has lost a child, particularly in a violent way.

My absolute only complaint is that I have to wait until October to hear the third book! ALSO-- I'M SO EXCITED MY HOMETOWN OF GLEN BURNIE WAS MENTIONED!!! (Don't worry, this doesn't give any spoilers!) This Trilogy is so good and I am just enthralled like I was with The Chronos Files Trilogy!!!! Oh I just loved it so much!!! Totally binged it all!!!!

Enjoyed overall

Audible has resolved the out of order chapters issue. My main critique is that the resolutions were a bit anti-climatic. I expected certain escalations and confrontations that didn’t happen or which happened very suddenly. Still, I was satisfied with the way the author resolved the story line and perhaps the resolutions added a bit to the realism in depicting human nature. Overall, I enjoyed the series in its entirety.
