Publisher's Summary

What if your mind became your worst enemy?

Struggling with evolving psychic abilities, seventeen-year-old Anna Morgan and her equally exceptional friends are on the run from the ruthless Graham Cregg, leader of a covert operation known as the Delphi Project. Cregg has already killed repeatedly to test Anna's ability. Now, he and his father, a presidential contender, will stop at nothing to recapture the Delphi adepts, whom they see as weapons to be controlled - or destroyed.

Navigating an increasingly hostile landscape, Anna and her friends form a resistance to rescue those still in the Creggs' fatal grip. As more gifted kids vanish and public awareness of the Delphi Project grows, so does the opinion that getting rid of the adepts may be a necessary evil.

Yet even as they face off against cold-blooded killers, government operatives, and a public intensely afraid of their psychic powers, the greatest threat to Anna and the resistance may come from within themselves - and their own mysterious abilities could spell their ultimate downfall.

Not really a resistance

Maybe it's because it was too long since I read the first book but it took time for me to get into the story. With resistance in the title I thought we would have action but 75% of the book is a road trip in an RV. It moved slow and had too many predictable parts and characters. I do like Anna, Daniel and Aaron and look forward to the next book. The conclusion will likely be very good.

second installment doesn't disappoint

sometimes the second book in a Trilogy is terrible but that is absolutely not the case with this one. You're going to want to pick it up as soon as you possibly can

A fun youthful contemporary scifi thriller

Teens and adults work together in smart, angst free battle of minds to take down the bad guys. Steady flow of a thriller with no lows but also no high tension burn out . Kate Rudd, the narrator, is once again a pleasure reading well everything from streetwise teen girl to demented sociopath.

Enjoyable sequel, but again with a trigger warning

I started listening to the sequel on my drive back from out of state. I love all the different gifted powers characters have. Again, I was completely engrossed, but there could be triggers for survivors of violence, or anyone who has lost a child, particularly in a violent way.

Enjoyed overall

Audible has resolved the out of order chapters issue. My main critique is that the resolutions were a bit anti-climatic. I expected certain escalations and confrontations that didn’t happen or which happened very suddenly. Still, I was satisfied with the way the author resolved the story line and perhaps the resolutions added a bit to the realism in depicting human nature. Overall, I enjoyed the series in its entirety.

Disappointing

Too much innuendo and sex. This book is also very slow and also predictable. here's hoping the last one in the series is as good as the first one.

I liked the story BUT....

Very interesting story & probably could be a movie BUT the narrator drove me crazy!! Sounds like a robot is speaking, with greatly enunciated words and small pauses. The only reason that I got through this book and the first one was because I liked the story so much.

My absolute only complaint is that I have to wait until October to hear the third book! ALSO-- I'M SO EXCITED MY HOMETOWN OF GLEN BURNIE WAS MENTIONED!!! (Don't worry, this doesn't give any spoilers!) This Trilogy is so good and I am just enthralled like I was with The Chronos Files Trilogy!!!! Oh I just loved it so much!!! Totally binged it all!!!!
