Publisher's summary

It's never wise to talk to strangers...and that goes double when they're dead. Unfortunately, seventeen-year-old Anna Morgan has no choice. Resting on a park bench, touching the turnstile at the Metro station - she never knows where she'll encounter a ghost. These mental hitchhikers are the reason Anna has been tossed from one foster home and psychiatric institution to the next for most of her life.

When a chance touch leads her to pick up the insistent spirit of a girl who was brutally murdered, Anna is pulled headlong into a deadly conspiracy that extends to the highest levels of government. Facing the forces behind her new hitcher's death will challenge the barriers, both good and bad, that Anna has erected over the years and shed light on her power's origins. And when the covert organization seeking to recruit her crosses the line by kidnapping her friend, it will discover just how far Anna is willing to go to bring it down.

It's alright, probably get there next

Teen book, not bad. The story has some ten angst, slight love build up, and leads into espionage back story. I'll probably get the next book!

Slow start, but got good!

This started pretty slow for me. Didn't really get where it was going until you meet Aaron and Taylor and learn about their gifts too. Anxious for the next one already!

Solid and engaging story

Great performance. The number of characters was a challenge to keep.up with at times. I will definitely read the next book in the series.

I liked the story but the performance was distracting

The story was very captivating and new enough to hold my attention. However, the narrator's way of enunciating each word drove me crazy. It's not so much that she read it poorly, it's that she read it too properly. The conversations were stilted, almost as if someone were reading who spoke English as a second language (nothing wrong with that) and they wanted to make sure and get each word correct. It did not have conversational flow I guess. I think if there are more books in the series I my prefer to read them myself.

Pretty good!

I enjoyed this book. I like the main character (Anna) quite a bit. The book had me interested within the first chapter. I love paranormal things, so that wasn't hard to do. I enjoyed the relationship between Anna & Deo. I like the character development between them. Once the pace starts to ramp up, things do start to go a little too fast, in my opinion. Perhaps I feel this way because it was an audio book, but nevertheless, I would have liked a little more suspense. By the end of the book, I became so confused with what was going on. The entire escape lost me /shrug. I will probably need to re-listen to some of the chapters again because I also don't understand how Molly is tied into the facility Anna and the others are in? I guess what I am trying to say is, this is one you have to pay full attention to in order not to miss things. I was listening while working.

The book reminds me a lot of the Darkest Minds novels. Not in a bad way. I loved those books, and I am happy to find a new series I can get into. I have already purchased book 2.

Ghosts, and other paranormal gifts

The Delphi Trilogy, Book 1
By: Rysa Walker
Narrated by: Kate Rudd
This was such an awesome book. A girl can see and talk with ghosts which has caused problems all her life. Sounds like a normal story but it is not. This is a fresh take on the theme. She tries to help this very insistent ghost. From this, it leads to almost getting killed herself. Then getting kidnapped. It is a fast and furious story with lots of things going on at one time. A wonderful cast of characters and a twisted plot that leads you on many roads that cross. A fun ride and loved it so much. A touch of romance, lots of paranormal fun, and suspense. Ends nice but ready for the next book and I am eager for that.
It is an audible book and the narrator is so awesome, the voices and inflections are perfect! Made the book so exciting. Thanks!

Another great Rysa Walker book!!

I really enjoyed reading Rysa's Chronos Files books, and was very intrigued by this new to me series. I bought the audio book to listen to on a 5 day long car ride. My daughter and I enjoyed it so much, we had to get book 2 to listen to on our way back home!

We are eagerly anticipating book number 3 later this year, as book 2 left us on quite a cliff hanger!!!! Kate Rudd does a good job narrating the story. If you enjoyed Rysa's other books, I'm pretty sure you will enjoy this one too!!

Wow! A unique reading experience!

Fascinating, completely original concept! Set slightly in the future with a main character who sees the world from her own (and her mind’s guests’) point of view, this is a mystery, a thriller, a sci-fi, and a conspiracy theory novel all rolled into one. I listened to the audio version in a single day. I can’t wait to start the sequel.
