Publisher's summary

'I charge you, Sir Alan Dale, with administering my death. At the end of the game, I would rather die by your hand than any other.'

England rebels. War rages across the land. In the wake of Magna Carta, King John's treachery is revealed, and the barons rise against him once more. Fighting with them is the Earl of Locksley - the former outlaw Robin Hood - and his right-hand man, Sir Alan Dale.

France invades. When the French enter the fray, with the cruel White Count leading the charge, Robin and Alan must decide where their loyalties lie: with those who would destroy the king and seize his realm or with the beloved land of their birth.

A hero lives forever. Fate is inexorable, and Death waits for us all. Or does it? Can Robin Hood pull off his greatest ever trick and cheat the Grim Reaper one last time just as England needs him most?

The climactic episode of The Outlaw Chronicles is the most explosive yet - but who will survive and who will fall when the final reckoning comes?

What a wonderful series.

An amazing series. Catches the reader from the very beginning. Bernard Cornwell readers would enjoy. One of my favorite adventure series.

great end to a great series

it was bittersweet to say goodbye to Sir Robin of locksley and Sir Alan after all the adventures. Really appreciated the development of the characters, especially Robin, as they ripened into middle-aged men.

Robin Hood's final adventures!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

If you have read the series, you absolutely have to finish it up!

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Death of Robin Hood?

unfortunately, all of the memorable moments would be spoilers, so I can't reveal them here!

If you could rename The Death of Robin Hood, what would you call it?

Hmmm... the legacy of Robin Hood. Or maybe, How Robin Hood shaped England.

Any additional comments?

The only reason this gets a four is that once again Alan Dale's contradictory behavior gets really frustrating at times. He knows who Robin is, yet is continuously surprised, disgusted, gets this superior moralistic attitude, then turns around and feels bad and apologizes to him. Then hit repeat. It gets a little old after awhile. But the story is strong enough for me to get past it. It's that well-written

Grateful

I have few words, but I will try.
There are thousands of books out there, hundreds of series. But I’m so grateful I listened to this series. It truly is one of the best I’ve ever had the fortune of reading.

A Perfect Conclusion

Angus Donald brings his saga of the career of Robin Hood, as seen by his good friend Sir Alan Dale, to a perfect conclusion. Historical events, from sieges to battles, are folded into the adventure with skill and the action never lets up as we follow the heroes on their last great campaign. Plots and subplots planted in earlier books are neatly tied up and a few expectations are nicely twisted for the element of surprise, bit in ways that are dramatically satisfying. Donald keeps up a brisk pace throughout and delivers once more on his inspired retelling of a legend. Mike Rogers provides excellent narration and shows a great skill at giving his characters realistic and appropriate dramatic voice and accents. Highly recommended.

What a superb series

This book is the culmination of a series that is so superbly written that it should be the mark against which other tales are measured. The characters are so rich in personality but they also have the traits that make them so believably human.
This is a series that I will return to over and over again for the story as well as the narration.
Thank you for writing this series Angus Donald.

AWESOME SERIES

These books were not only good, but the performance was also great. Donald does a superb job keeping the plot moving and there’s so many twists and schemes going on.

The legend of Robin Hood for me personally is intriguing, and this historical fiction does the notorious outlaw justice in every way.

One thing Donald does really well is the battle scenes. He does something many others do not, he can make small, individual actions in battle seem like hours. It’s like slow motion.

Character development was awesome as well. Just buy it and you won’t be disappointed.
