Publisher's summary

Adrian forgave himself. The undead have been banished and he's accepted the love of friends, family, and some strangers. He's started a better life.

Bastion grows day after day as pilgrims come to put down roots near the vaunted Trinity. Crops are growing, babies are being born, supplies are being salvaged, restful dreams are being had, and there's even talk that the government is surfacing to reform.

All his problems should be getting better now, right?

But some battles start after the last shot is fired.

They call themselves The Northern Valley Cooperative.

Adrian's known about them for years. Always on his fringe, never in his face, they built a fortress out of a ski resort, and brought everyone near them to heel. And now, with winter bearing down on Adrian's world, the NVC is marching south.

Are they friends, or are they foes?

Either way, Adrian's got a loaded gun on his hip, and he's surrounded by people he'd die for.

He just might.

The Dealer of Hope contains Adrian's journal entries from September 21, 2013 through November 30, 2013. It also contains the side fictions "Desperation", "Junkyard Dogs", "Strange Bedfellows", "No One's Home", "A City Laid Asunder", and "One Last Hurrah".

“Mr. Philbrook has come back with a fresh voice and story, without abandoning everything his fans loved about the series. It’s like a homecoming where all the warm feelings of familiarity drain out in dread as the front door opens.... Welcome home.” (Jeffrey Clare, author, All Things Zombie)

Adrian's Undead Diary is back!

Adrian's Undead Diary is back! I know there have been the fanfictions and all, but those just didn't quite have the same flavor as Philbrook has. I have to say that this series really solidified my love of the zombie and post apocalypse genres. So when I heard about this next installment coming out, I had to get my hands, I mean ears on this as soon as possible.

If you have not listened to any of the Adrian's Undead Diary series, you're in luck as this is the start of a new chapter in the adventure. Sure you might miss out of a few tidbits. But Philbrook made this as easily approachable for new readers and listeners as I think he could. Fans of this series will not be disappointed and noobs will not be scared off.

Now that there are no more zombies what in the world are Adrian and his encampment to do? Well, as in most apocalyptica, the people are the ones to fear the most. Faced with a new group of survivors, The Northern Valley Cooperative (NVC), that are well organized and very possibly better armed. As always, Adrian proves to be smarter than your average bear and has been training the survivors at Bastion very well. Just what will happen to our favorite toe pusher?

I really appreciated, as always, the side fictions included. Not only do they help build the full scope of the apocalypse from different points of view. But it also helps to break up and enhance the Adrian storyline.

If you are an AUD fan. This is a no-brainer. Get it now, why are you reading this and not listening?!? If you have been waiting for the right time to delve into a wonderfully entertaining zombie post-apoc series, now if your time.

Listening to James Anderson Foster voice Adrian was like putting on your favorite piece of clothing. There was a sense of ease and comfort that came over me. Maybe that makes me a little biased but this performance was flawless. I even tried to find something negative to say and here is the best I could do. Foster has a unique conversational narration style, where it is just him telling a story. Because of his style, Foster need not have a completely unique character voice of every character. Simply he changes up the tone and cadence and you just know who is speaking or playing "narrator". Fully interpreting and expressing Philbrook's embedded emotional states and pulling me in hook, line, and sinker.

Awesome

Awesome start to a very interesting story. Excited that Adrian and gang are back and very interested in how Thomas reunites with Adrian and how or if he is tied to the NVC. Great read. Thanks

He’s back!!!

So we are back with Adrian at Bastion, it’s been a few years since he killed Cassie and the dead, died. We get to know some of Adrian’s, Navy Seal, brothers story and what do you know poor Adrian is being thrust into more danger and turmoil. Can’t wait for the next book to find out what happens with the military group in the mountains. So glad Chris continued this amazing series!

Still going strong. A bit shorter

Still enjoying the series. The narration wasn’t quite as good this book, same guy just sounded a bit off. Book was only around 7hrs long, which in my opinion is close to a waste of a credit. I usually only purchase books at least 10hrs.

Fantastic Listen

Once again, James Foster knocks it out of the park with his voice acting. I thoroughly enjoyed this story. Chris Philbrook has created an impressive universe, and I look forward to more of his stories.

Good job Chris, and good job James!

The most fun I've had with my headphones on!

Adrian's Undead diary was way outside of my normal go to books. For years I had read the standard best sellers and celebrity book club suggestions. I found this series by accident and I am so glad I did. Honestly, it's so much fun! Chris makes every character colorful and genuine. I have listened to James Foster narrate so many books after I listened to these because he is one of the very best! And I have gone back a listened to the whole series many times. Book 9 is everything I craved for the main characters and then MORE! I have now read many series and books in the genre and I can say without a doubt this one is my favorite! Next level awesome! Can not wait for 10!

Fantastic!

I absolutely love this series and “The Dealer of Hope” is a perfect continuation in Adrian’s story. The author is very good at building and developing truly believable worlds. James Foster, who is one of my favorite narrators, always does a fabulous job with narration and book 9 was as flawless as the rest of his work! I highly recommend this series, this author, and this narrator and I’m looking forward to more from both of them!
