Frederik Pohl
In this story, a young man from the far future is bored, so he escapes in a time portal to find a more exciting life in the past. His goal is to take some weapons from the future and join up with "The Mafia" in New York City. One of the groups of people he meets is a street gang called "The Boomer Dukes." He asks them to "take me to your Mafia." Very interesting results follow. The story is told in the first person in five sections - the young man, a city cop, the gang leader, a reporter, and a short order cook who turns out to be much more than she seems.

Reseñas editoriales
Suffering from severe boredom, a sentient being from Earth's distant future decides to time travel back to 1960s New York and join the mafia. Upon arriving, he asks for directions from a group of local toughs - the Boomer Dukes - who in turn beat him up, steal his deadly fission weapons, and initiate an apocalyptic turf war that threatens to engulf the entire city. Frederik Pohl's humorous tale of miscommunication features an eclectic cast of characters who can't seem to understand one another - streetwise criminals, ill-prepared police, and omnipotent time travelers. Listeners won't get lost in translation, however, as this ensemble cast led by Cindy and Jim Killavey beautifully captures Pohl's unique use of slang and wordplay, delivering a delightfully droll performance.
Told in five parts and the fact that each part is told by a different narrator made it even better.
Wonderful!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Told as five eyewitness accounts, this story of a bored time-tourist and the trouble he causes is worth it for the last line alone.A gem of construction, the five narrators used capture the characters wonderfully.
A delightful story about time travel gone wrong
