Publisher's summary

What if it all changed? What if everything you knew as person in today's world stopped...today? What if that life-changing event wasn't something that killed anyone immediately? What if the people you know had to truly fend for themselves? Could they do it? Could you do it? Will society as a whole crumble? Will it flourish?

Meet Camron Reese, a mostly normal guy, all things considered. Camron has knack for writing, although he never aspired to be an author. His style is raw, unfiltered, and open to the point that it makes listeners squirm in their seats, for various reasons. This leads him on a journey where he publishes a best seller, and shortly after, his book is turned into a movie that becomes a household name. While he is happy about the success, this is still not ideal for young Cam, who doesn't like the spotlight very much, and realizes that getting out of the city would be the best plan for him.

He stumbles on a town in Pennsylvania that fits his needs very well. His needs were simple—disappear from the limelight as much as he could, be forgotten...at least for some time.

He was mostly successful in his venture to stay off the grid, and was content living out his days in the new home he purchased, where he had a bunch of land to roam.

Until an event happens that will change the way life is lived for all people. Not just locally to him, but in the whole US.

Camron, and a group of the closest people to him, are immediately thrust into a survival situation. The basics of life are the first concerns.

With a militant group trying to establish a new rule over the country, Cam and his group will have to choose to fight for the past, embrace the present, or forge a new future.

The Day Of bk 1

This was a very good first book in a new series. The electricity goes down, then the newer cars stop running. How is this happening? The First Wave is how,a sick group of psychos are making their way across the conrinent killing and raping. Our hero has a cabin that is on many acres.First only 4 people know, then 6.The total fluctuates and a revolution is based there.Everyone is looking for The Shadow. They want to follow him..... Dan Belmont was a really good narrator. was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Love love love this book

The story is spectacular, and the narrator brings you into this world like no other could. Perfect narrating for each character and cadence kept me involves. The story. Now I LOVE the story. I won't give away anything but truly wish there could be a way for a 2nd book. From beginning to end I was hoping for the best outcome. And got it. Great job!

Dytopian

This audiobook highlights what to expect with the uprising of radicals who alter the present way of life. We will live in constant fear. Narrator Dan Belmont did s great job of portraying Cam the main character.

Not much action.

And to much getting in touch with your emotions kinda stuff. Lot of backstory that wasn’t needed and your half way through the book before any apocalypse stuff starts. MC is also not a very tough guy and seems to only have “Victoria Secret” type woman in his story. Hope is the only tough person and the one you’d want to be around in this story.
