Publisher's Summary

In Paris, an American surgeon named Paul Osborn sees a man he believes murdered his father years ago - and tries to kill him. In London, a renowned homicide detective from Los Angeles on assignment to Interpol investigates a baffling series of decapitations. In Geneva, a beautiful medical resident begins a love affair that will change her life forever. In New Mexico, a physical therapist is invited to accompany a very special patient back to Switzerland. And in Germany, a select group of industrialists prepares for a momentous celebration...

Deftly weaving together these disparate events, Allan Folsom reveals an international conspiracy of apocalyptic proportions, a sinister cabal that will send Paul Osborn on a heart-pounding chase across Europe - and keep listeners up long into the night.

Good quick listen

I read this book when I was in my early 20s and remember really enjoying it. Then the movie with the same name came out and I was excited to see it, until I found out it had nothing to do with the book. This was a book that really stuck in my head and I've thought about re-reading it many times over the years. It's always interesting to go back over something that you read when you were young and see how your tastes and opinions have changed. This time around I found myself zoning out and drifting off. Perhaps because I already knew how it was going to end. I still really enjoyed the idea behind the story, though, and would recommend it to anyone. Because it's abridged it's a really quick and easy listen. The narrator was fantastic. He did all of the accents (Swedish, German, American, British, British slang, female) very convincingly. I have mixed opinions about the music in the recording. I don't normally like music in audio books, however, I felt like it added more to this book than it detracted.

A new twist on an old theme

This book won't disappoint you. It grabs you at the start and holds for the entire ride. The ending will come as a surprise (at least I wasn't expecting it). There were a few areas of the story I found unlikely, but they didn't take away from the story too much. The characters are believable and well developed. Overall, I enjoyed this audiobook.

Critical -but for the good

I found the book to be both riviting and interesting until the very end. I did figure out what was in the box about 2/3's down the line because it was kind of obvious. Still, I thought the book and its presentation were well done.

day after tomorrow

I found the exceedingly annoying music added for dramatic effect so distracting that it really ruined the book for me. At times it was so loud that it drowned out the story line.

The music is annoying.

What made the experience of listening to The Day After Tomorrow the most enjoyable?

This is a good story and a well-written book.

What didn’t you like about Edward Hermann’s performance?

I love this narrator.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes

Any additional comments?

I enjoyed the book, but the music was so annoying that I almost stopped listening. This is the first audible book I've read that had the music in it and I will never buy another one. I'll just read the paper book.

Lots of twists

Loved this story bit different for me.
My whole family listened to this on a drive down though France to Tarragona in Spain, my 15 year old daughter would not join us in our Holiday home until she had listened right to the end. That's how good this book is.
