Publisher's Summary

My husband says his first wife’s dead. His daughters say he killed her....

When I married Bill, he was still reeling from the loss of his first wife.

After our wedding, back in his dusty, quiet house, I hugged his daughters Lucy and Sara close and swore I would help heal this grieving family.

I have worked so hard to be a mother for them, to create a warm and happy home.

But sweet, troubled Lucy is still struggling.

I was so worried about her, but now I think I’ve found the perfect therapist. He says he can unlock her memories and reveal what’s really causing her anxiety.

Sitting in his sunlit waiting room, staring at the framed diplomas on the wall, I allow myself to hope.

But then Lucy comes running out of the room, her eyes wild.

She says she saw her mother die.

She says her father killed her....

A completely gripping psychological thriller that will make your heart pound as you try to decide who is telling the truth. Perfect for fans of Lisa Jewell, Paula Hawkins, and Gillian Flynn.

Story wouldHave been good

Would have been a great story but, as per our current political climate, always have to be reference to the racist white people. She can tell by the set of their mother. Couldn’t possibly be because her husband is thought to be a criminal and her a supporter; must be racist, of course. I’m sick of the sjw bull. Guess what, sometimes people don’t like you because you are a jerk. Sometimes cops think you are complicit in crime, without respect to your skin color. Exact quote” she can tell he’s racist by the set of his mouth.” Stop acting like everything is racial. Seriously tired of it. (Not the only reference to “racist “ behavior). Maybe the cop thought your husband was a baby killer. Is it too much to ask that books are aren’t so presumptuous?

Very long and tedious

I could not wait for this story to be over. I couldn’t follow the characters who was who and nor the plot.

Julia Crouch hits all time high

I’ve read nearly all Julia Crouch’s novels and for me The Daughters is her best to date. I loved the twists and turns of the story, the pace and the setting. I know London well as I grew up there, and could ll too easily picture the plot of land which she describes. It was incredibly pacy and the narrator excellent. Bravo Julia!

Sigh!

Almost lost the will to live with this one and Audible won’t allow me to return, unless I go through the rigmarole of contacting them. There really are some truly awful books on Audible.
