Publisher's Summary

Michael returns to fulfill a promise to his love, but the world isn't the same place.

Michael just wants a little sleep. The last few days have been a bit of a learning overload after coming back 150 years after he was blown apart by a backpack nuke.

The world destroyed itself, there are anti-gravity cars and ships, and his love is in the stars...somewhere.

Plus, there is a vampire trying to make Europe his personal fiefdom. Akio and Yuko are trying to find him, and he has a young female Wechselbalg and male vampire to keep on the straight and narrow.

Michael has his own brand of justice, and this world is now understanding the Patriarch is back.

Nothing will be the same.

As noted in other series set in the Kurtherian Universe, there is cursing in this audiobook occasionally - it's funny, too.

Keep it up.

I loved it. I actually yelled out loud ,"No you don't, you sorry excuse for worm food!" when Duke was asking the physicist how to tear apart a mist. The performance had my attention and kept my focus (this is a hard thing to do.). Thank You! For bringing this book to life. Great Performance!

Another fantastic book

As Michael is one of my most favorite characters in the KG universe and this book was so good. Shorter then I want by far but I can deal. Can't wait for the next one to come out in audio. Another great job for both the author and narrator. Keep doing great work.

Love the action and some of the characters.

What a way to dish out Vengeance with a capital V. This is turning out to be a great series of books thus far. And not too terribly long in telling Michaels’ story.

This one has it all

I loved how the narrator used his inflections to bring out Michael's dry sense of humor. The story itself is great, as always with a good vampire story the use of historical facts sells it to me. And I want more!

Not as good as book one

The Darkest Night
The Second Dark Ages, Book 2
By: Michael Anderle
Narrated by: Chris Abernathy
I really liked book one but this one was definitely less exciting. It still had great characters, witty dialogue, and wild action. Supernatural characters a big plus. It just didn't have that special something that book one had.
The narrator was good but not fantastic. Maybe it was the book.

dark..yeah. darkly funny michael?..Hell Yeah!

just goes to prove the best books are all about the characters interactions. The consistent & pitiless unyeilding that Michael wrote Michael with in the beginning is what makes his new found moments of ironic humor, especially about himself and his rep the best Hidden Gem of this series and I look forward to what kind of jokes and one up she'll be cracking by the end of it good job on Michael, Michael; thanks! jaberle
