Publisher's summary

Can you survive the cold?

After the initial series of summer blizzards, the snowfall has decreased, but the temperatures continue to drop, the icy wind still blows, and with each passing day, the darkness lasts longer and longer.

It is in the darkness the monsters thrive.

Confined to the lake house and having no communication with the outside world, Grady and the others live every day in fear, questioning what the future holds. Will the snow melt? Will the sun ever rise? Can the wraiths be defeated?

But as the days turn to weeks, no answers come. Soon, the survivors' supplies lessen, and whether they're ready to or not, they must venture out into the snowy wasteland.

They must fight.

That is, if they want to continue to survive.

more snow, more wraiths & dwindling supplies!

Our story continues! Grady & Elenore get closer, They find a puppy that brings Mikie out of his depression and Grady decides to go into town to raid the grocery store. Luckily El & Stone come looking for him. In this book the wraiths get bolder and our heros are running out of supplies. They need to move on and have to devise a plan. It's still snowing and the sun still only comes out for a few minutes each day! The wraiths take on the forms of giant terrifying animals/monsters in this one. I'm eagerly awaiting book 3. If you love post apocalyptic books with a touch of supernatural / horror / monsters don't hesitate to get this one. You'll love it!

Good series and story but...

Good series and story. My only complaint is I have to spend several credits on what should not be a series of 3-4 books but 1 book. Each book is 4ish hours long and after the normal beginning introductions, is really only about 2 hours and covers 1 event. Other than that, I'm all in. The author does a good job of writing well fleshed out characters. The situational framework is unique and the style is easy to read/listen to. Two thumbs up.

Quick read and interesting

The story has really held my attention. The books go by fast, i enjoy the detail and the slight creepiness.

I tried...

The 1st book was free (and worth every penny). I noticed that all of the books were rather short and was in the mood for something new! I'm stopping with about 2hrs left in Book 2. The narrator is really good, but the story just doesn't move along. The characters are cool, and easy to follow but the story just goes nowhere. Maybe when I'm in the mood for a comedy disguised as something more sinister....(who am I kidding).

Book 2 is better but still short

I think author has grown and book 2 was actually better than book 1. BUT still short. just under 4.5 hours.
I find it is hard to justify using a credit for a 4.5 hour book - hardly enough time to get a good story out and progress through the book enough; I'm okay with a cliff hanger, but I feel like it is like "Pay to Play" as far as audio books are concerned.
there isn't a 3rd out at this time, but I don't think I will continue unless the author decides to add a bit more meat to the next book
