Loved this book!!!

This is a great book to listen to! Cloe Zanders finds herself helping Daegus MacKelter, who has 13 evil spirits sharing his body and trying to take him over. Will he give up all to ravage Cloe? Will Cloe give up everything to go to Scotland with a man she doesn't even know to try to free him from these evil spirits? Does she even believe him or does she think he is a crazy, but goood looking man!?! What will they do besides fall in love? This is Ms. Moning's 5th book in the series. You don't need to read the first three but it would be helpful if you read the fourth book, KISS OF A HIGHLANDER, first. Many of the characters in KISS appear in this book, if only briefly. I found this book fun to listen to and will listen again soon. Enjoy!

I loved this book!!!! And narrator !!!

Karen Marie Moning's books are keepers.I think she has a way of bringing her characters to life in all their gorgeous, passionate glory. I felt the love story in this was amazing.I laughed, cried and was angry for the characters throughout the book and it takes a gifted writer to elicit emotion from their readers (and or) listeners.

It is also MY OPINION, that Phil Gigante is an awesome narrator.I will admit that I do prefer, not only with this book, but all books, that a man and woman read the different parts, but again, Mr. Gigante did a wonderful job.

I would now like to address something that really bothers me.Reviewers who BASH an author or narrator because the book is not what they expected. Yes, you are entitled to YOUR opinion , HOWEVER, why would you feel the need to BASH a work that an author has put their time, talent, and most likely tears into. Can't you say something like "This author is not what I expected and I won't be buying their books again". These reviews are for our opinions, YES , but there is no need to be mean. Put yourself in the writer's place. How would you feel if you were the author and a reader said "this book was a stinker" or "it was nothing like this other author because it had no historical references" or "what a waste of my money (or credit)It was all sex."PLEASE reviewers AND buyers, checkout an author and their work on a bookstore site, the author's website to see any awards etc. and read or LISTEN TO EXCERPTS!! That's what they are there for. Make an educated decision on a purchase instead of just buying and then being mad at the author because it wasn't what you wanted and bashing them in your review.Reviewers who give these bashing reviews could possibly be turning away a new reader/listener and that would be unfair to the perspective reader/listener and author. Please think before you type.Thank you and this is MY OPINION.

Not worth a credit

Characters were poorly developed. Poor historical detail. Shallow plot development. Incidental romance. I was gritting my teeth to finish this book and wish that I hadn't. Anyone who loves the Outlander series will find this far and away below its class-for both writing and narration.

Hot!

Phil Gigante does the most amazing job reading this series! His voice just makes you melt, especially when he is doing one of the Scottish Brogues!

WARNING though! Even though it's not marked as such, this book is in the middle of a series. Most of the books can be just read as stand alone, but for this one, you really do need to listen to "Kiss of the Highlander" first. But trust me, they are worth the credits!

couldn't get enough

I have actually read the entire series now and just never got tired of them. I loved all of the characters, even if some parts were somewhat predictable. It mostly still kept me on the edge of my seat. I loved them and was really sorry to see it end.

Love these books!

I love these books. I read them first because I couldn't find them on audio. Except for 5 and 7. And then I listened to them. And I still need 7. Audibles took so long to get them I had to get them from elsewhere. Please get book 7 Audibles! That's one I haven't read yet!

MUST READ! Love the highlander!

What made the experience of listening to The Dark Highlander the most enjoyable?

Phil Gigante's voice is sooooo smooth and awesome! I loved his reading of my favorite highlander series. He brings ALL the characters to life.

What does Phil Gigante bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

His voice really brings the characters to life. I can see the facial expressions of the characters as he describes them. His ability to do the baritone voices reverberates through me while I'm listening the book. He snares me so well that I sometimes continue to sit in my car because I just can't "put down" the book!

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Yes!

Get on with it already!

I enjoy a good romance and don't mind steamy sex but this was ridiculous, and the narration was annoying.

dark highlander

I loved her highlander series, and definitely enjoyed the narrator. Can't wait for the next book. Hope it goes to audiobook soon. (w/the same narrator of course).

Good story, heroine's voice a bit off putting

I liked the storyline and the romantic scenes were good but the tones the narrator used for the main heroine was a bit off-putting. She didn't sound like the intelligent person she was supposed to be when the narrator was saying her "speaking" lines. I preferred her "thinking" parts because the narrator used his own voice which didn't sound so forced.
