Publisher's summary

We have real hope we’re called to share. But how we share it makes a difference.

Christians today face a dilemma: In a world that seems to reject everything we believe, how do we walk closely with God without caving to pressure or alienating those we hope to reach?

In this eye-opening new book, Chris Hodges provides a solution by examining the life of the prophet Daniel, who persevered in a corrupt culture that closely resembles our own — and emerged as an influential force in God’s redemptive plan.

Full of scripture and seasoned with Hodges’ candid personal insights, The Daniel Dilemma shows us that standing for truth isn’t about winning the argument; it’s about winning hearts. And when we learn the secret of connecting before correcting, we discover that we can hold firmly to biblical beliefs without becoming obnoxious, insulting, or mad; stand strong while loving others well; and respond to today’s hard questions without compromising grace or truth.

With fresh insights and practical ideas, Hodges encourages Christians struggling with our cultural reality to hold God’s standards high and his grace deep — just as Jesus did, and just as his followers today are called to do.

Challenging

Not only was this work well performed, it hit the nail on the head concerning a Christian's attitude and behavior in a fallen world. i highly recommend the book.

Great book on living for Christ no matter what!

It's been awhile since I've taken notes while a book is playing, so I thank you Mr. Hodges for igniting my faith again! This book gave me more direction on how to live in this world despite the allure it has to make us stray so easily. Really makes you evaluate different areas of your life to see if you're really living for God or slipping more and more into this world. Only thing I wish it had was a few more real life examples of how to talk with those that aren't living for God-I enjoyed the examples there were, but more would have been helpful...but still an AWESOME book that I would highly recommend! ☺

Another great book by Hodges

I admit that I am a fan of Chris Hodges and the amazing movement he is leading with Church of the Highlands, the Association of Related Churches, and the Grow Network. I believe this book takes his talents to another level though as he walks the reader through the book of Daniel and unveils how he navigated through culture and continued to stand firm and love well in his turbulent times. I love how Chris approaches each topic with grace and personal conviction without sacrificing either to get his point across. I fully recommend this for any Christian, Pastor, or church leader who is looking for ancient wisdom to guide them through today.

Phenomenal!

The wisdom & challenge Chris Hodges offers in this book is a must read/hear for all Christians. The way he relates Daniel's story while he was held captive to the way we seem to be held captive by this sinful world is so encouraging. The reader presents the book in a comfortable natural flow. So entertaining, & yet so challenging to step up & stand for truth.

Love how much he spent attention to detail when it comes to books about the Bible you have to be thorough and he did just that

Truthful and somewhat helpful but a bit too preachy on the delivery.

Truthful and somewhat helpful but a bit too preachy on the delivery. Too much reiteration.

Well worth listening to!

An excellent book; very timely for the current times we live in. Left me feeling encouraged about the personal impact I can have on society. The narrator really brought the book to life and conveyed the humorous parts of the book very well.

Good for studying Daniel and his influence

Was very well narrated. Would consider reading as part of a group to go deeper.
