When Elizabeth takes Mr. Darcy's hand for a dance at Lucas Lodge, she can't believe she's dancing with such an odious man—meanwhile, Darcy is enamored with her beauty and smiles. But when she confronts him about his rude slight at the Meryton Assembly, Elizabeth is affronted when Mr. Darcy denies having ever slighted her! When Bingley insists his sisters must invite the angelic Miss Bennet to dine, she gets thrown from her horse due to fright during a storm! Bingley witnesses the fall and races to get Miss Bennet inside, and when it turns out she has a broken leg, she and her sister Elizabeth remain ensconced at Netherfield for weeks—in very close proximity with the two men who consider them to be their angels.

Better than I expected

I’ve listened to various other virtual voice narratives and this was by far the best. Having both male and female voices was a delight and gave more expression to the story.

A Good P&P novella and VV Surprisingly Decent

One of only 2 Virtual Voice narrations - both P&P Variations and both by this author - which I felt were pretty good. The other was Mr Darcy’s Secret Correspondence and it used 4 different VV voices, one of them male. I like this author’s writing - interesting variations with very good dialogue. I can recommend this story if one is willing to overlook an occasional mispronunciation and other minor errors VV has yet to overcome.
