This book captures your heart and your mind. I have read all 3 now and my 13 yr old son just finished this one too and immediately downloaded the 2nd. We love the brilliant narrative of this little Himalayan cat, who is on a path through life similar to all creatures - and surprisingly, we can relate!

Who was your favorite character and why?

While there is no question my son and I both love the little Snow Lion, he feels an affinity for Sam and I do love Mrs. Trencci.

Which scene was your favorite?

I loved how she came to meet up with her Tom Cat - needing to overcome her aversions to non familiar places.

If you could take any character from The Dalai Lama's Cat + The Dalai Lama's Cat: Guided Meditations out to dinner, who would it be and why?

The Dalai Lama - as I am sure it would be - cativating!

Valuable lessons

This was a sweet story. The meditations were really nice. I kept going back to listen to the meditations for about a week. Cat lovers will enjoy the purring.

Insightful and clever

A lifelong student of buddhism and lover of cats- this series is entertaining, well written, humorous and beautifully presents the best of Buddhist precepts. Highly recommend.

A lovely storyline, written by a cat lover, and a wise practitioner of Buddhism. I loved it.

Purrfect Parable

I started the Dalai Lama's Cat series on the 4th book, which I loved so much that I had to read/listen to all of the others. I almost wish I had listened to them in order for the sake of the stories building upon one another, but I don't know that I'd have been drawn in as much if I'd started with the first book - I resonated with the 4th book much more. You can read them as stand-alone books as well without missing much, as this author is good at adding enough background detail from previous stories without being repetitious. This book is the beginning of the kitty's story and her learnings about Buddhism and life with the Dalai Lama, so it begins on an elementary level, and the next books continue building on her story and lessons in Buddhism. In other words, this book is like a 101 lesson told in humorous, cute, and sweet stories from the well -written point of view of not-just-any cat. The audiobook is performed by the author, and he does a great job. I would highly recommend this to cat lovers, animal lovers, anyone curious about Buddhism.

Heart warming and funny! The parables told are simple but powerful. Loved this book immensely.

HHC, His Holiness' Cat

This was a good listen, an original way to introduce some fundamentals of Buddhism. Some of the story elements were also engaging. The soothing tone and voice of HHC (thru the author himself) was a plus. Cat lovers will also enjoy. Check it out.
