One-Eyed Jack has returned....

FBI crime analyst Kili Brennan has come to Boone Creek, in the Appalachian foothills of Kentucky, looking for her missing brother... looking for answers. Instead, she finds a world of suspicion and superstition. Locals say her brother, and a string of others, may have been killed by One-Eyed Jack - the fabled giant guardian that protects the fantastic archaeological monument he was researching. As Kili's search intensifies, the danger escalates, and the only person that can help her is a man whose mysterious past might be just as frightening, and infinitely more dangerous, than the dark secrets she is determined to uncover. A man named Ezekiel Crane.

Fantastic

I really didn't know what to expect from this book, if I'm honest the image on the cover kind of freaked me out. But I wanted to give it a go and boy am I glad I did. It was such a fun, interesting story. J. Kent Holloway really knows how to grab the readers attention, keeps them turning the page and happy to beg for more. I cannot wait to read the next instalment.

I've never really liked female narration but Katherine Joan Taylor has own me over. She did such a brilliant job bringing the characters to life, capturing the listeners attention and she doesn't let go until the very end.

Charming writing; bravura performance

If you could sum up The Curse of One-Eyed Jack in three words, what would they be?

Let's see, if I could sum up "The Curse of One-Eyed Jack" in three words, they'd be Magical, Suspenseful and Thriller.

Who was your favorite character and why?

One-Eyed Jack was my favorite, because I couldn't figure out who/what he/it was until the end.

Which scene was your favorite?

The scene between Granny Craine and the boy Jimmy.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

Who or what is killing people off in the wilds of Kentucky, and why are the folks of the nearby town keeping the killer's identity secret?

Any additional comments?

The narration of this book is particularly stong; the dialect spot-on while remaining understandable.
