Mysterious events plague a greenhouse in Pennsylvania’s Amish country.

When Vernon King, his son, and son-in-law are involved in a terrible accident, three women are left to cope with their deaths, as they become the sole providers of the family they have left. The women’s only income must come from the family greenhouse, but someone seems to be trying to force them out of business.

Amy King has just lost her father and brother, and her mother needs her to help run the family’s greenhouse. It doesn’t seem fair to ask her to leave a job she loves when there is still a sister and brother to help. But Sylvia is also grieving for her husband while left to raise three children, and Henry, just out of school, is saddled with all the jobs his father and older brother used to do. As Amy assumes her new role, she also asks Jared Riehl to put their courtship on hold. When things become even more stressful at the greenhouse, will Amy crumble under the pressure?

I didn’t care for the narrator of this book. He voices were corny and the story slow. Not a favorite, but I am a little curious about the storyline… not sure it’s enough to go on to the next books.

Story is slow and narrator lacking…

In spite of a tragedy early on in this book, family virtues and faith help this family pull together and meet the challenges they face. The mysterious circumstances are puzzling. I look forward to book 2 of this trilogy! Wanda Brunstetter delivers yet another wonderful and enjoyable book... Thank you Wanda!!

So much more to come in the story line! So many words of wisdom and encouragement.

Wow

I have read and listened to many Wanda Brunstetter books that I have deeply enjoyed, in fact I can’t remember one I haven’t liked. This book, however, seems very negative in verse, and overall, nothing like normal Amish fiction. Several of the characters, including the Amish characters, are mean-spirited and often disrespectful.

I will finish the series, but doubt I would ever return to this book.

Rebecca Gallagher as a narrator is as fabulous as always.

Not what I expected
