Publisher's Summary

Waitress and single mother Louise Olson wouldn’t have missed church to stay home with her sick daughter if she knew the congregation was going to volunteer her to head up the town’s Harvest Festival.

Truth be told, she didn’t mind and would have enjoyed it. The problem was Sweet Water’s superstar hockey golden boy was back in town, and he had been named her co-chair. That even wouldn’t be a problem except he didn’t know he was a father - of her daughter.

Hockey forward Ty Hanson grew up on a ranch in Sweet Water, North Dakota, but once he left for college, he never went home. He wouldn’t be there now except for the off-season injury his agent wanted kept secret so it didn’t affect his marketability, so he was to hang out in Sweet Water, North Dakota, until the season started.

His first Sunday back in the church of his childhood, he gets selected as a volunteer to co-chair the Harvest Fest committee with the girl he could never forget.

When Ty and Louise are forced to work together, Louise is compelled to tell Ty the secret she’s kept from everyone. The attraction between them still burns strong, but Louise was on the verge of getting married, and years of neglect and betrayal lie between her and her accidental summer fling.

Will Ty pick up his cowboy hat and come back home? Can he convince Louise that he’ll stay this time?

Sweet Cowboy Romance

Sweet second chance romance. Beautifully crafted story includes secrets, misconceptions, gossip and the courage it takes to persevere and make amends. You can’t help but root for the handsome Hockey player and the single mom. Jay Dyess is excellent at narration and uses voice inflection and different tones to keep the reader engaged.

Wonderful!

As with the rest of this series of books, this story introduces you to a sister from this ranching family in Dakota.
I cant wait to start the next book!
Each book is a stand alone, but put them in order and enjoy the whole family!

Jessie has a way of writing that draws you into the family, and the whole town.
With Jays soothing voice, you can just close your eyes and believe you are right there in Sweet Water, with them all.

Second chance

What an intriguing story by Jessie Gussman! You can almost feel the embarrassment and shame Louise felt as she walked the halls of her high school during her senior year, pregnant and alone. You can see her determination to do the best by her daughter for the next eight years. However, just as she decides the course she must take to secure a future for herself and her daughter, another option presents itself. I love the characters in this story though I wonder about Gram and Mrs Donna. Both of them suspected who the father was but neither of them ever approached Louise or Ty. I don't know if this is normal for Norwegians, but it sure wouldn't happen that way in my family! Maybe if a conversation had happened earlier, Louise wouldn't have had to struggle as hard as she did.

I listened to this on Audible and Jay Dyess narrated the story so well! I could listen to him all day! Come to think of it, I did!

Excellent Story with Excellent Narration

I had read this book before and truly enjoyed it. Second chance books are a favorite of mine, because they give hope. Jessie has woven a tale of love and forgiveness, strength and character. I love the fact that her stories are clean and encourage people not to be bitter over their circumstances. Louise could have held bitterness and poisoned her daughter Tella, but she didn’t. Thereby, she opened the way to love and happiness.

That being said, I most likely would not have read this series again, if it weren’t for Jay Dyess. I was given the audio of book 1 in this series for attending an online meeting. Jay’s narration is so good that I had to purchase the next audio book in the series, even though I’ve already read them all. Jay makes the stories come to life! I love Jay’s narration and his voicing between characters. Moreover, he is a genius at recording, and mixing. You cannot find flaws in the patching, volume or mixing/mastering. I don’t have to worry about having to turn the volume up to hear, or having my ears blasted. The normalization is perfect. I’d be proud to have Jay work at our radio station.

I am about to go purchase another audio book in this series, just so I can enjoy Jay’s narration. There is only one other author that I enjoyed because of the narrator. I could no longer enjoy her books, when the narrator died of cancer. Jay take good care of yourself!

Louise never told her secret.

One night 9 years ago was the best of times and the worst of times. And then he left and never came back or called. She was left pregnant trying to finish high school and he went on to the NHL and was a star and her daughter was his biggest fan. Then he came back and saw Louise and lost his heart all over again, but he has to earn her trust and that doesn’t come easily.
Jessie always tells a great story and Jay makes it live with his great narration. For a clean romance, with some humor and country wisdom thrown in you can’t miss with this duo.

Couldn’t stop listening!

This book had the most physical romance (still very clean) of any I’ve heard Dyess read. I was very impressed at how it came across. As always, an audio that caused me to continue to listen (even though I read it earlier this year) rather switch to reading a new book.

Story:

This book really was incredible. It was better than I could’ve imagined. A wonderful second chance, surprise child romance. I absolutely loved these characters and getting to know more of Sweet Water. I’m super pumped for Ford’s story and eagerly anticipating Georgia’s!

Great storyline

When Ty came back to town after a hockey injury, he quickly volunteered at church to help with the town's Christmas festival, except the woman in charge of the festival was absent the day the town's people voted her in to do the job. She had stayed at home with her sick daughter that day....

Jay Dyess does a wonderful job of reading this book and doing different voices in the narration. Jessie Gussman does a wonderful job of writing these books too!

Awesome book

Ty and Louise were best friends and secretly they started seeing each other down by the river. Ty left to go to college and to become a major hockey star. He had a fight with his father that night. But later that night his father had a heart attack and passed away. Ty didn't come home for over 9 years. Then he came home to see his mother. He ran into Louise and while he was at home for a month he found out that he was a dad.

Louise had been pregnant the last time she had seen Ty for his father's funeral but she hadn't known that. She found out later. But she didn't tell him or anyone because she wanted him to get his college education and become the hockey star that he had.

Now can she trust him again and can they become more than friends. Check out the book I just couldn't put it down.

Louise and Ty

I never have spoiler in my review but I had to break my rule for this one. The phone situation with Ty is so unbelievable, one of his team mates, his agent or his mother must have his number and he could have gotten it from them.
Louise reaction to his explanation was too good to be true after what happened with Ty before but I guess it is in her best interests to be positive. All in all, it is an ok story likeable characters.I

Beautiful,Sweet, Clean Romance.

I absolutely loved this and I have no hesitation in recommending it!
As always Jay Dyess has done an excellent job of bringing these characters to life
Hockey forward,Ty Hanson, back in town to hide his leg injury is volunteered to head up the town's Harvest festival along with the pianist, who is absent from church that day.
Louise Olsen, the pianist who is also volunteered to head up the town's Harvest festival,at first doesn't mind, until she finds out who her co chair is.
Ty Hanson. The man who left her behind when he went off to college. The man who fathered her child.
I don't want to give spoilers for this story, I want to give listeners the chance to immerse themselves in a beautifully written expertly narrated story.
