Cora Crane School of Journalism Director Michael Bugliosi is found unconscious one night in his office after being attacked with a heavy blown-glass award from the alumni association for being an inspiration. The police conclude that several faculty and staff in the Crane School had a motive to attack him. When veteran professor Charles “Rags” Ragsdale is appointed acting director, he takes over a school in chaos. That one of the faculty or staff might have attempted to murder Bugliosi is only one problem.
