Exiled from Glasgow for exposing corruption, DI Sarah Lynch was sent to Fort William as punishment. The remote Scottish Highlands were meant to end her career.

Instead, they became her purpose.

From dark lochs to frozen peaks, from burning moorland to ancient forests, DI Sarah Lynch investigates murders that the powerful want buried. Each case transforms her—from bitter outsider to Highland protector, from exile to home.

This complete six-book series includes over 180,000 words of atmospheric British crime fiction:

📖 THE DARK LOCH - A body in the water exposes illegal poaching and murder on a Highland estate. Sarah's first case proves the Highlands are anything but peaceful.

📖 THE BURNING MOOR - A wildfire on Rannoch Moor reveals six bodies buried over two decades. Some secrets burn for years before the truth surfaces.

📖 THE SILENT GLEN - Witness protection fails when a protected witness is executed in Glen Nevis. Organized crime has come to the Highlands, and nowhere is safe.

📖 THE FROZEN PEAKS - A sabotaged rope on Ben Nevis kills a geologist who knew too much. Corporate conspiracy reaches the highest peaks.

📖 THE RAVEN'S CRY - A wildlife officer is murdered in ancient Caledonian forest. The ravens witnessed everything—but who will listen to nature's testimony?

📖 THE LAST CAIRN - Sarah's corrupt former superior is on the run, and the final confrontation will test everything she's become in the Highlands.

The repetive soapbox preaching really kills the potential of the plots. The author glosses over what should be the good parts. to focus on the "message". The setting is in the Scottish Highlands by default the scenes are remote. How many time does the writer have to tell me it is remote. Land owner bad enviromentlist good.
I also agree that the AI accent should be Scottish. is there any way to teach the AI to correctly identify an acronym. And to us the correct pronunciation of words like read and lead. as in "I have read the book" as opposed to I will read the book".
glad I didn't pay for it

The plots have potential but the soapbox kills them.

The plot could have been interesting if there weren’t so much “filler”. Drone drone drone.

Droning monotone and storytelling.

Again the Ai narration. If you are going to have story that takes place in the highlands of Scotland then you should have some one that has a Scottish dialect to narrate the book. Did not finish the entire books made it through the first book that’s is. As a native Scott could not get away from the way they said Glasgow totally wrong.

AI narrations are bad. They mispronounce words all the time and is very robotic no emotion.

The horrible AI narration made it impossible to even judge the story itself. Totally aside from the fact that it was done with an American accent (which is just wrong), the overall narration was truly terrible. I feel bad that this author’s potentially decent work with slaughtered.

Terrible narration
