The pressure is real. Markets are shifting. Loyalty is fleeting. Teams are burned out. Tech stacks are overloaded—but results are still falling short.
In a fast-moving world full of disruption and noise, today’s most effective leaders are gaining an edge—not by adding more tools, but by rethinking how they lead. They’re using community as a strategic system to drive growth, cut costs, and compete where others struggle to keep up. This isn’t community as a soft, feel-good concept. It’s about building people-powered networks that unlock loyalty, trust, and real business outcomes.
In The Community-First Advantage, award-winning strategist Chris Catania reveals how modern leaders are using online community—not as a marketing add-on or a customer support solution, but as a competitive advantage across the entire organization.
You’ll discover how to:
- Align your business goals with a system that scales trust and loyalty.
- Unlock cost savings while accelerating innovation and growth.
- Lead through pressure using the ADAPT Model—a leadership framework rooted in authenticity, direction, agility, purpose, and trust.
- Activate the 3Es of community success—experience, enablement, and evaluation.
- Learn how companies like LEGO, UiPath, Airbnb, Microsoft, and Canva outperform competitors through community-led strategy.
- Avoid the most common traps that stall or sink well-intentioned community efforts.
Whether you’re a CEO, CMO, founder, or rising change agent, The Community-First Advantage will help you turn your community into the strategic force your business has been missing—and give you the tools to lead with authenticity, agility, and trust in an era of constant change.

His narration was great, and now I need to buy the book so I can do actual highlighting and not just save clips in the audiobook. This is the book that you revisit again and again as the strategy evolves. His framework keeps you grounded in priorities and structures how to internalize the importance of community so that all cross-functional teams and leaders understand the importance of the experience and the data that is held within and available from a brand-owned community.
Every executive leader and community manager should read this book.
