Publisher's summary

Three stories of horror in the vein of H. P. Lovecraft's Cthulhu Mythos.

AROUND THE CORNER - A man whose parents raised him in a cult suspects the new tenants in his apartment complex belong to a similar cult, and are summoning up powers that will change the world...and not for the betterment of humankind.

AFTER THE FALL - Around the world, after a great storm, the sky becomes filled with the fossilized remains of vast monsters locked in an ancient conflict, leaving humans to interpret this vision and to consider their own humble existence.

SCRIMSHAW - In this alternate history story set in 1851, men in seafaring ships do not harvest whale blubber, but seek strange treasures in the bodies of immense alien creatures.

From Jeffrey Thomas - the author of Punktown.

Brilliant storyteller

Jeffrey Thomas has been quietly setting the bar for genre fiction for two decades, and should in a just world be a household name. This collection (really a short chapbook) is comprised of three creepy, cerebral tales which get better and better as they go along. Thomas is easily up there with Laird Barron, John Langan and Nathan Ballingrud in writing the best weird, post-Lovecraftian tales available. If you like smart and spooky, you'll love these.

Alas, the only thing wrong with this collection is that it's too short. The narrator is terrific, but I worry that people will buy this thinking it's a full-length collection. Audible needs more Jeffrey Thomas books!

Just misses

No substance. Seems rushed and just not well written. The length is both perfect and horrible. Perfect because you don’t suffer long and horrible because with a little more substance it could be good
