James Patterson's Detective Billy Harney is back, this time investigating murders in a notorious Chicago drug ring, which will lead him, his sister, and his new partner through a dangerous web of corrupt politicians, vengeful billionaires, and violent dark web conspiracies.

In The Coldest Case: A Black Book Audio Drama, homicide detective Billy Harney sends his new partner, Kate, deep undercover in a notorious Chicago drug ring. When several members of the ring soon turn up dead, Billy abruptly pulls Kate out, blowing her cover. Kate’s informant inside the gang quickly disappears. As does the ring’s black book....

When Billy can’t find the informant, he wonders if Kate is secretly harboring her, since the two grew close during Kate's weeks undercover. As Billy and Kate investigate the ring’s murders, they’ll be pulled into a dangerous web of corrupt politicians, vengeful billionaires, drugged pro-athletes, and violent, dark web conspiracies, all in search of the missing black book.

Great Audio Drama❤️

This is my second Audio drama complete with many sound affect and an entire staff of narrators. I did not finish my first one and decided never again. I had no idea who the players were and who was just killed. Six months later I softened and took the plunge with The Coldest Case. It was short and free. I was not disappointed! It was totally engaging and very well performed and written! Like watching TV without the visual. You are totally submerged in the experience. Highly recommend!

So Fun!!!

Enjoy this ride by an award winning cast. A bit different experience from a typical audio book experience. More like listening to a movie. Once you adjust to it though it’s awesome. Highly recommend!

A modern take on The Golden Age of Radio.

I loved every minute of it. An all star cast, with everyone in top form. One twist after another, brilliant work. A ten out of ten.

Tv for the ears

This was a very interesting and fun story. The ending was nothing that I “saw” coming. I loved this story as well as the format. It was easy to become involved in the storyline. I would love to hear more of these “movies for the ears”! Very well done.

Well Done!

Very rarely does an audio book use a cast as large as a TV series. This one did, which gave the book a completely different feel than one read by one or two people. It felt "real".

Add that to a complex and intriguing story, such as this one, and you have a winner, through and through.

If crime drama interests you, I recommend this book highly. Bravo!

Cinematic experience

I know we all look for different things in audio books but I really enjoyed the experience. Great acting and sound quality. If this was a series I’d be binging it right now.

Well done novella

Excellently written (scripted?) story. Definitely a Patterson story and feel. I did guess the bad guy early on, but getting there was still fun.
