Publisher's Summary

A brilliant new Christmas novel from Sunday Times best-selling author Trisha Ashley.

Meg is definitely not in the Christmas mood. She’s never gone in for tinsel, baubles and mistletoe, and right now she’s still getting over an illness. Yet when she’s invited to spend the run-up to Christmas in the snowy countryside rather than dreary London, she can’t refuse.

Arriving at a warm and cosy family home in a small hilltop village, Meg soon begins to wonder what a proper Christmas might be like. But just as she’s beginning to settle in, she spots a familiar face. Lex.

Despite the festive cheer, Meg suddenly wants nothing more than to get as far away from him, and their past secrets, as she can. But if she stays, could this be the year she finally discovers the magic of Christmas....?

Fabulously funny, intelligent and heart-warming, Trisha Ashley’s brand-new novel is the feel-good Christmas novel of the year. It even contains recipes!

Not for me

I have now decided to give up on this one, I was really looking forward to a good Christmas story but I have after several hours of listening still found it boring, and the narration of some of the characters is depressing and driving me crazy.
So I obviously disagree with most of the other reviews on this one.

Stunning!

I know its Mid January - but OMG a wonderful book, by Trisha, I had read some reviews of the narration, but I found the change of voices brilliant to go along with. The character Clara the matriarch of the house starts the story and Meg the artist comes into the family life, The story is wonderful and the description of the scenery and the area is stunning! Please read this book - It made me smile and realise that life in all shapes and sizes is fine! Oh and a Daschund makes the story so much better. Watch Out for Den - I'm his biggest fan x!

Good feeling audio.

Took me a little time to settle into this story, but once hooked I couldn’t put it down. It was romantic mixed with family intrigued and mystery. Very colourful characters throughout. I loved it. Well worth buying to listen to or in book form.

Not one for me

Had a few issues with this book. The story is so full of stereotypical caricatures & the narration of Clara's voice made me cringe. Hippy vegetarians, communes & bright dyed hair, really?!!! Too predictable & I just didn't connect with anyone in it. The ending was too tidy with a big cliche bow. Many people enjoyed it, you might too, just not for me.
