Publisher's summary

In Kristi Ann Hunter's "Legacy of Love", Sarah Gooding never suspected returning a brooch to an elderly woman would lead to a job...and introduce her to the woman's grandson, a man far above her station.

In Karen Witemeyer's "Gift of the Heart", widow Ruth Albright uses the family brooch as collateral for a loan from the local banker. But the more she comes to know the man behind the stern businessman, the more she hopes for a second chance at love.

In Sarah Loudin Thomas' "A Shot at Love", Fleeta Brady's rough-and-tumble childhood means she prefers hunting to more feminine activities. She never expected her family's brooch might be how a fellow hunter turns her attention from competition to romance.

In Becky Wade's "Because of You", Maddie Winslow has spent years in love with a man whose heart was already spoken for. When a church Christmas project brings them together and she stumbles upon an old family brooch, might it finally be her turn for love?

Nice stories

Four Christmas romances in four time periods by four different authors, but keenly connected by one heirloom passed from generation to generation. Sweet Holiday reads.

Great collection

I love these authors and enjoyed having them in a collection together. Something here for readers of all eras: historical and contemporary, woven together with a common theme.

Each story has a different narrator, but all do a good job.

Christian Multigenerational Romances

Christmas Heirloom

Legacy of Love by Kristi Ann Hunter

What a beautiful story about an amazing woman!  This aging grandmother had a gift of love and living a life well that made her an eccentric in her circle, but what a legacy she left for her steadfast aide and her favorite grandson!  The narration was superb and was the perfect screeching mother and aristocratic men along with the gentle grandmother and the passionate companion!

Gift of the Heart by Karen Witemeyer

What an endearing story!  So many moments of touching wisdom mixed with heart stopping sentimental possibilities of deep passionate forever love!  A truly touching love story!  A delightful narration!

I loved the Southern drawl of the mother and the adorable voice of the joyful child!

A Shot at Love by Sarah Loudin Thomas

What an amazing story!  I loved the Christmas sermon and how Fleeta finally understood her worth in the eyes of God!  He loved her regardless of how unfeminine she was or how abandoned she felt as an orphan!  But God isn't the only one who sees her worth and wants to treasure her!  Great narration!  I think Fleetwood was portrayed perfectly!

Because of You by Becky Wade

I don't read (or listen) to a lot of contemporary romances, but I did enjoy this story!  The fight over the guilt was powerful, but her resolution was great!  I enjoyed the narration very much.  The sweet children were my favorite voices!

A delightful read

Love the 4 short stories that had an heirloom that connected all the generations. Great narrators. Recommendable to anyone.
Nothing to dislike about any story, but I did love the casual humor of the first one.

Great Christmas Themed Compilation

I really enjoyed this grouping of Novelas that followed the theme of a precious heirloom as well as the people who owned it and the loves of their lives. My favorites were the first, third and fourth one in the series, perhaps because I enjoy the setting and time periods of them more. I also thoroughly enjoyed the audible version of it.

Never too late to purchase an heirloom for my own family

A heartwarming Christmas story set through the ages. Loved how they all tied together! I was nervous that because different authors wrote the stories that it wouldn’t flow but that couldn’t be further from the truth. Although the stories were from different eras, they were tied together by a single heirloom. These stories have inspired me to go purchase something to pass down from generation to generation in my own family. It’s never too late to start a family tradition. Fantastic job by all the authors.

Book 1, 2 great, book 3 awfully boring, book 4 meh

Book 1 was good but very sad. There wasn't much romance only assumption that immediately led to the epilog. This one had the best narrator of the 4.

Book 2 was great. Best written of the group. It is very sweet, heartfelt, and very romantic. The romantic build-up was slow and well developed. Lovely characters with depth & dimensions, even though it was a novella.

But book 3 is awful. ot is terribly boring, and the content is all about guns. it actually made me uncomfortable... weird take ok the play Oklahoma or Annie get your gun I guess but without any humor or substance. Frita is supposed to be a unique tomboy, but her character comes across flat and unlikable. I finally skipped to book 4.

book 4 was cute. it had a nice premise, but the writing was generic bordering on juvenile. There were also a few obvious grammatical mistakes. The FMC was portrayed as an immature and flighty. Unfortunately, the narrator delivered everything in a sing song tone that reinforced the airhead impression.

The book has an interesting idea to follow the heirloom passed on from mother to daughter. However, the timelines' get muddled and the brooches' Scottish origin is lost in book 4. This critical piece of the missing ancestry cheapens the meaning of the entire purpose of the combined Novellas. Pity because it had potential.

Just What I Love About Christmas Stories

All four authors used the central theme of the heirloom brooch mentioned in the title but, other than that, the stories were very different. I listened to the audiobook format and was pleased that each story was read by a different voice actor—for instance, the story set in England was read by a British actor, the one in the south was a believable southern accent. If you love romances that focus on characters and their developing love for each other, happy endings for all, and no heavy-breathing sex scenes, these are the type stories you will like. I highly recommend this audiobook.
