Daisy Allen planned to spend her mandated vacation over Christmas alone and in a remote mountain cabin with no people and complete solitude. But a double-booking mix-up leaves her snowed in with Mason Holmes, a rugged wildlife photographer who makes perfect pancakes, hums Christmas carols before sunrise, and somehow thaws her icy exterior faster than the cabin’s fireplace.

She wants control. He thrives on free choice. She’s on the verge of a career-defining promotion. He’s chasing a dream with a camera and a surprisingly well organized survival backpack. With blizzards, shared cocoa, and sizzling proximity complicating everything, Daisy must decide if the life she’s built is worth walking away from the one that just might make her heart feel at home.

A cozy, laugh-out-loud grumpy-sunshine holiday romance packed with forced proximity, snowy mishaps, emotional healing, and the kind of happily ever after that only happens when you stop making lists and start taking chances.

Readers of In a Holidaze, Snowed In with the Grump, and Christmas at Fireside Cabins will fall in love with this sweet and snowy Christmas romance!

The story was alright, but rushed. By far the worst part was the AI narrator. It put emphasis in the wrong places, taking you out of the story. The narrating was flat. The lack of different voices of the two characters also detracted from the listening experience. A human reader would have made this a passable book.

AI Narration is Inferior

It was cute. Kinda like a motivational type of theme not really romantic. The AI narration was ok better than the last one I tried to listen to. This killed time.

Not Romantic

The story seems cute and I’d like to maybe read it, but I can’t listen to it. There is no warmth. Totally flat and often gets the inflection wrong when emphasizing, like when she asked “what changed?” and he answers, “l guess I did.” You expect the emphasis to be on the second “I” - like I’M the thing that changed. Instead, it’s on the “guess” and the “did” as though he’s agreeing, if she had asked “Did you change?” Honestly, there’s a million of these little things and it ruins the story because it feels like the narrator doesn’t actually “get” the intention behind the words. I guess AI still has a way to go in conveying genuine human interaction.

Narration is terrible
