One woman...

Marcie is crazy in love with Dan, who has been using her and promising his love in return. And she'll do anything for him, which is fast becoming a one-way ticket to trouble. But in a freak accident, she loses her memory, landing in the path of sexy DEA Agent Sam Carre.

Two men...

For DEA Agent Sam Carre, when this attractive stranger lands in his path, he just can't resist helping her, even though he's haunted by a past that gives him no peace. But as the sparks fly, so do questions of what she's really involved in.

And a choice that could kill her...

This complex case pushes them both to explain the unexplainable, bringing them face to face with generations-old evil and a haunting question. Sam's forced to make a choice: walk away from the attraction connecting them or risk losing everything.

Intriguing with a Supernatural Touch

I found this book to be intriguing because it mixes the present with an intricate web of past misdeeds. Marcie has her hand full with Dan and all the evil that has surrounded him since birth but then she meets Sam a handsome DEA agent after a mishap in New Orleans. Marcie and her friends must bound together to end the cycle of evil that keeps rearing its ugly head as the past and present collide. The storyline had me hooked from the beginning the intrigue of evil, drug smugglers, and romance. The author does a fabulous job with the characters as they grow throughout the plot. I highly recommend this book it may be long but it is well worth a listen. This is my honest unbiased review.

A Unique and Fascinating Tale of Light & Darkness

What a well-executed and complex story of redemption and the intense spiritual struggles that go on within and without. Fired by past unresolved hurts and cravings for genuine love Sam and Marcie dance around their growing attraction and connection. The spirituality of New Orleans is given a new twist by a cast of likeable side characters that also grow and change with the twists and turns of events. The imaginative storyline by Lorhainne Eckhardt is complimented by excellent professional narration by Jennifer Pickens. What a perfect narrator choice for the book. Readers should be clear that this is a series and not all loose ends are wound up. There were however no cliffhangers and sufficient closure to make it a complete and satisfying read.

The loss of one star was only because I despised Sam's patronising and bossy treatment of Marcie and the fact she liked it. I found her insipid flip flops and weak dependency frustrating at times but this reflected the depth of my connection with the story and characters. Lorrhaine's engaging writing style masterfully pulled me in and my desire to punch Sam's nose hard and kick his butt out of Marcie's house left lots of room for character growth. Let's hope they both mature and get a little therapy in later installments LOL. Who does not love a series where the characters evolve and develop rather than staying still and it is all masterful motion in 'The Choice'.

Great Read

The Choice (Walk the Right Road #1) was a great read by Lorhainne Eckhart. Marcie is in love with Dan who has been promising his love but using her at the same time. She would do anything for him. She has a freak accident and loses her memory. That's when she met DEA Agent Sam Carre. Sam knows immediately that he has to help her. He's haunted by a pats that gives him no peace. He's questioning what she's really involved in. I loved reading this book and cant wait to read more by the author.

more questions left

I enjoyed the journey, but don't feel like all my questions are answered. Sam's meeting with Lance left me feeling empty and disappointed. Too much unknown and unsatisfied. I did enjoy the parallels made with the PNR effects. I voluntarily listened to a free copy of this and am giving an honest review. The narrator did a good job bringing it to life.
