FBI special agent Kate O’Hare has made it her mission to nail international con artist Nicolas Fox. When she discovers his plot to plunder a venture capitalist’s 20th-story Chicago penthouse of all its cash and treasures while the self-proclaimed "King of Hostile Takeovers" is getting married, Kate is 85 percent - okay maybe 92 percent - sure that she’s finally going to bag Nick Fox. Problem is, first Kate has to convince her boss, building security, and maybe even herself, that wedding planner Merrill Stubing is actually Nicolas Fox. Second, she has to figure out how to corner and capture him without disrupting the event of the year.

Publisher's Summary
Janet Evanovich and Lee Goldberg, New York Times best-selling authors of The Heist, return in this action-packed, exciting adventure featuring master con artist Nicolas Fox and die-hard FBI agent Kate O'Hare. And this time around, things go from hot to nuclear when government secrets are on the line.
Internationally renowned thief and con artist Nicolas Fox is famous for running elaborate and daring scams. His greatest con of all: convincing the FBI to team him up with the only person who has ever caught him, and the only woman to ever capture his attention, Special Agent Kate O'Hare. Together they'll go undercover to swindle and catch the world's most wanted - and untouchable - criminals.
Their newest target is Carter Grove, a former White House chief of staff and the ruthless leader of a private security agency. Grove has stolen a rare Chinese artifact from the Smithsonian, a crime that will torpedo U.S. relations with China if it ever becomes public. Nick and Kate must work under the radar - and against the clock - to devise a plan to steal the piece back. Confronting Grove's elite assassins, Nick and Kate rely on the skills of their ragtag crew, including a flamboyant actor, a Geek Squad techie, and a band of AARP-card-carrying mercenaries led by none other than Kate's dad.
A daring heist and a deadly chase lead Nick and Kate from Washington, D.C., to Shanghai, from the highlands of Scotland to the underbelly of Montreal. But it'll take more than death threats, trained henchmen, sleepless nights, and the fate of a dynasty's priceless heirloom to outsmart Fox and O'Hare.

A fun listen
Janet Evanovich and Lee Goldberg have written an excellent and fun book in The Chase. Having Scott Brick, my favorite narrator, read it adds to the pleasure of listening. I hope Evanovick and Goldberg will keep the same two main characters and make this the first of a series.

Laugh out Loud funny and keeps your attention
Would you consider the audio edition of The Chase to be better than the print version?
Having not read this book in print I don't feel I can answer this fairly, but it is a great listen and, I'm sure, a great read.
Who was your favorite character and why?
My favorite characters are both Kate and Nicholas - and Boyd Capwell!! O'Hare and Fox for obvious reasons - the dichotomy, the chemistry and their combined creative imaginative ways they look at problems. Boyd Capwell for his talent and his serious commitment to his craft!
Which scene was your favorite?
The plane scene was my favorite.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
It's all about the chase.
Any additional comments?
none.

Entertaining
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Yes - the book is an easy listen and entertaining.
What did you like best about this story?
The author keeps the story moving along and does not go off on sub plots or dive in to drab details.
Which scene was your favorite?
There were a couple of twists and turns, but the ending was worthy of the build-up
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
Oceans 11 meets born identity
Any additional comments?
The only negative would be the narrator. He did a good job, but you need a few chapters to get used to his style of reading. Almost like he is reluctant to be doing this if that makes sense?

Kate and Nick at it again, and it is so addicting!
These two are so fun, Scott Brick is perfect, and the author(s) are brilliant. I just love the banter back and forth between all the characters, but in particular Kate and Nick. The flirtation and innuendos along with their expertise at what each does makes the story flow effortlessly. Just waiting for them to seal the deal!
