Publisher's Summary

Small-town librarian Kathleen Paulson often seems to gets mixed up in murder, but luckily, her very special cats always find a way to help her close a case....

The charming Minnesota town of Mayville Heights is hosting a music festival, and the whole place is bustling with musicians and tourists. Kathleen is looking forward to taking in some fabulous performances - and her two cats, Owen and Hercules, are looking forward to taking in some fabulous sardine crackers. But then the trio stumbles across a dead body by the river.

The victim is a close friend - who also happens to be a lookalike of a popular cabaret singer set to perform at the festival. Who could have wanted to harm this innocent girl? Was it a case of mistaken identity?

As accusations abound and suspicions swirl, Kathleen, Hercules, and Owen will put their abilities - both mundane and magical - to the test and lay down the paw.

Another winner

Sofie Kelly has another winner with the latest installment in the Magical Cats series. It has all the heartwarming moments and characters we’ve all grown to love. Cassandra Campbell, as always, brings it all to life with her stellar performance. If you enjoy cozy mysteries starring cats, then you won’t want to miss this one.

Music, Magic and Murder

I LOVE this series, as well as the gentle voice of the narrator. Owen and Hercules keep their librarian owner, Kathleen busy, even getting into a car (walking right through the door 😂), causing her to have to make up some funny tales to retrieve them. When the three of them come upon a dead body beside the river, Kathleen is sure she knows who the woman is . . . but it turns out she is wrong. The search for the killer keep her and her magic cats busy. Nothing is quite as it seems. The photo shoots with Owen and Hercules are so much fun, and they usually lead to an unlikely discovery. Great story and excellent conclusion.

Great story, great characters, great narrator

After listening to the first of the series, I listen to this one out of sequence. I will go back and find the others, but each one can stand alone and this one was just terrific! I hated for it to end.

Horrible narrator limpid characters

This book got good reviews so take this for an abherrent position. I couldn't tell one character from the other since there was nonsignificant tonal differences but also the dialogue was limpid so maybe I lacked interest.

Narrators make a difference

I look for books read by Cassandra. She is truly my favorite reader! During this time of major social challenges the narrators voice is very calming.
If I were a doctor I would write Rxs for everyone to listen to books read by Cassandra
