Publisher's summary

After an unexpected twist of fate, All-Star catcher Easton Wylder is left questioning the loyalty of everyone around him.

Even the woman who shares his bed, Scout Dalton.

But if Easton thought being uprooted to the last place he expected was the only challenge life had to throw at him, he was dead wrong.

With an ailing shoulder and his career in limbo, his decision to make an unexpected change leads him to question everything - Scout's love, family loyalties, and whether he can conquer the one obstacle he's never been able to overcome. The secret he's never shared with anyone.

He may be a man pushed to his limits, but he's hell-bent on proving his worth no matter the cost.

Don’t judge a man until...

... until you’ve walked a mile in his moccasins. That’s the moral I took from this story.

Right up until the moment Easton confessed to Scout his huge secret I was angry with his behavior towards her and was referring to him as a “man-child”, and wondering what the hell such a well-put-together woman was seeing in him. Then it all became clear, and I felt like such an @$$hole. I thought he was being a typical alpha male jackass, and then I felt like the jackass.

This was a good story, made so much better by such an awesome team of narrators; Andi and Joe are at the pinnacle of their profession.

It was more than a romance; but the love scenes were really hot, too. I’ve noticed now that Kristi writes a kind of physical and emotional intimacy that makes me cry and want what she describes for myself, an incredible level of articulate closeness that just blows the mind and wrecks the heart. I find it easy to empathize with what the lovers are feeling and saying to each other, the way she writes it.

The only reason I didn’t give the story part of this 5 stars is because I’m trying to save my 5-star ratings for things like War & Peace or Dune.

America's Sport & K Bromberg!

This was a terrific book and a great series! I LOVED this book as I have all of K Bromberg books. The story of Easton was so moving and so real. Scout was such a strong woman and although they had a few stumbles on their way to a great relationship, they didn't play stupid games and Easton always knew where to find what he needed with Scout. Great epilogue with some happy tears. I'm sure that I will listen to this series again and maybe again. of course, Andi Arndt and Joe Arden hit it out of the ballpark on this book..they are 2 of my fav narrators! ..more than a 5 star book!

Love it!

I've got to say, Andi Armstrong is my favorite narrator. Any book she reads has been great.

Brilliant, Breathtaking, Palpable

This is another example of why I love K. Bromberg books. The characters she creates draw you in and make you want to be them. This tugged at all emotions, joy, sadness, anger, angst, and so much more. I love that her characters are strong, both the male and the female. There's always quick quips to make you laugh. I was eagerly awaiting the release of this audio and it most definitely did NOT disappoint.

have a game

Easton had my heart and soul. Wow! New fav book boyfriend. He melted my insides the things he said and did wow. I can't forget about my girl Scout. I wish more books were written this way the strong, living no nonse male and the strong independent women they each knew what they wanted and went after it never giving up. I am having #EastonandScout withdraws.😣😣😣

Great writing.

Normally I'm not the type of person who enjoys anything regarding baseball but I must say this particular story was captured my attention, was creative, emotional and funny.

A swoon worthy tale!

K. Bromberg hit it out of the park. Easton and Scout’s complicated love story gave me all the feels. I laughed. I cried. I was emotionally invested in the characters and their journey and I didn’t want it to end.
