My 4 year old enjoyed it.
Charming little story of a French cat trying to find her way back to France from England. Found the impression of a cat meowing French irritating, but it wasn't too bad. Not too scary for young kids. Happy ending.

Great book for children
As all the other books in the serie, the story of Suzy is cute and touching and relatable. My 4 yo loved it, as much as all the other animal stories by Jill Tomlinson which we are reading one after the other.
And after each one, I download the audiobook and he spends hours listening to them in turns.
The only downside to this perticular one is the quality of the audio. It's not great. The voice of the reader is wobbly for some reason. It's a pity as all the other ones are good!

Sweet story for cat lovers
Despite not being the target age, I really enjoyed Suzy's efforts to get home and I'm glad I took a chance on this in the sale. However, I found Maureen Lipman's narration grating after a while, so I doubt I'll listen a second time.

Jill Tomlinson at her best, perfectly read.
Lovely adventure story about a cat that accidentally ends up in England and wants desperately to get back to France. Original and funny with some interesting little bits for kids to learn along the way, including a few French words.
We love Jill Tomlinson's books, but I think this could be a firm favourite.

I'm a cat lover and I loved it!
I just bought this audiobook tonight and I've already listened to it, I have just finished it and had to come and review it.
It's a brilliant cat story and as a cat lover I enjoy every moment, I am going to love listening to it again and I think my husband will love it too as he is also a cat lover.
Great narrator, she did a brilliant job and made this audiobook so enjoyable to listen too!
Highly recommended for all cat lovers, both young and old (I'm in my twenties!). Great length for before bed and enjoyable from start to finish!
The book is about a cat from France, that gets taken to the UK by a member of her family. She (the cat) wants to go back to France and starts her journey to get back there. So much determination and she never gives up, it's so funny and you can't help but love her as she tries everything...even trying going out to sea on a surf board!!!
Brilliant, I love this book and well worth buying - best money I spent!

Purrfect
What made the experience of listening to The Cat Who Wanted to Go Home the most enjoyable?
The way it captivated my granddaughters, Nina, 4 years old, attention on long car journeys
What other book might you compare The Cat Who Wanted to Go Home to, and why?
None yet but shall definately be looking.
Which character – as performed by Maureen Lipman – was your favourite?
The cat. The cat really made Nina laugh.
Any additional comments?
I have to say that despite having listened to this book at least 6 times so far I enjoy it every time. It sparks off questions with my granddaughter and we often discuss some of the things that happen and what would Nina do. As an adult there are obviously a few things you question, but who cares when you can slip into the world of a child for a while. Certainly the next best thing to sitting and sharing a book and perfect for interspersing car games with. Both Nina and I would give this one top ratings. :-)

It’s two months before Amelia’s big audition for the Mystwick School of Musicraft. If she gets in, she will learn to spin music into powerful magic - but her Gran has one last-ditch plan to persuade her out of it: sports camp. A week of softball, sprinting, and sweaty socks isn't exactly Amelia’s idea of a good time - in fact, she's deeply, appallingly unathletic. By the end of day one, she’s puked her guts out in track, gotten a black eye in no-contact flag football, and firmly established herself as the Least Valuable Player at camp.

Story
Zero is just one of 20,000 people aboard a spaceship bound for a new planet set to be colonized. The journey is over a century long but luckily, everyone is in stasis, so they’ll be safe and sound asleep during the trip. Everyone that is, except for Zero, whose pod has malfunctioned, waking him up a hundred years early. His initial excitement in roaming the ship alone quickly turns to a heart-stopping interstellar adventure when a family of space pirates show up, trying to hijack the ship and take the colonizers hostage.

Story
Deep beneath the ocean, there is a shimmering palace. Built of coral walls and windows of clearest amber, it is the kingdom of the merpeople. And one of these mermaids you might know well: she is the youngest, and is gifted with the most beautiful voice. Unhappy with her life as a mermaid, she dreams of living on dry land. One day, on her birthday, she ascends to the surface to find a magnificent three-masted ship drifting in calm waters. There, amongst the passengers, she meets the brown-eyed prince.

Story
There are three rules in Black River Falls: Don’t break curfew unless you want the monsters to find you. Don’t ask questions, no matter what. And when someone goes missing, don’t go looking. Joey Barnes obeyed those rules, until the day her mother vanished without a trace. She’s spent two years secretly hunting for clues, and she’s discovered plenty of things that don’t make sense, even for Black River Falls.
