Publisher's summary

America's most beloved writer, Lilian Jackson Braun, author of twenty-four Cat Who... mysteries is now the subject of a mystery herself. In this spoof by one of her most ardent admirers, her beheaded body has been discovered in the men's room of a gay bar in Lower Manhattan. The police are baffled, and so it is up to Braun's eccentric writer friend, James Q. (Qafka), and his Siamese cats Ying-Ton and Poon-Tang to solve the ghastly mystery. Q.'s quest leads him on a hilarious, ribald chase that's a cross between a story by Lenny Bruce and Dashiell Hammett. Before it's done we've encountered Pulitzer Prize-winning Philip Roth, a sex-starved suburban housewife, a mysterious Hollywood diary, Britney Spears, an ancient secret society, and two gifted cats whose trail of urine and hairballs leads Q. and his spunky undergraduate assistant to finally unravel the riddle of

What a disappointment!

I expected a light and charming book similar to the original Lilian Jackson Braun books, since the author used her name in the title. The foul language, the way the plot drifts off, and the subject matter all add up to a big disappointment. I would like to trade this one back for another book. Wish I had read a copy from the library rather than having wasted money on this trash. I have removed it from my IPod.

Don't waste your time!

This was one of the worst audio books I have come across. I was expecting a witty and fun spoof honoring one of my favorite book series. Instead I received a book that ridiculed the Cat Who books and their writer and contained gratuitous sex and language. A very disappointing book, audio or otherwise. Audible.com, you should give a refund on this one!!!

The Cat Who Killed Lillian Jaskon Braun

I to expected a good mystery book by Lillian Jackson Braun, I didn't realize that she wasn't the auther until I statarted listing to it. The foul language and the subject matter all added up to a big disappointment and this is just the first chaper. I had to get up and check to see if I down loaded the right book. Wish I had read the reviews before I purchased it so I wouldn't have wasted my money on this trash.

Sad little book

I like a good parody - but this isn't it. if it had mirrored the whimsical nature of the originals, then it might have been a tale worth listening too. But sadly, it's a loser of a book. I'm sorry I didn't read some reviews before I downloaded it and spent my credit. It's not even a book to go to sleep with! Avoid like the plague is my strong advice.

big dissappointment

I have been a fan of The Cat Who series for years. This is vulgar and crude. The worst book I have ever listened to or read!! The only reason I gave it one star is because no stars was not accepted.

HORRIBLE AWFUL ROTTEN etc...

I REALLY WANT MY CREDIT BACK!!! >:[ Biggest waste of my time and money in the past year... seriously, and I couldn't stand to listen to more than 17 minutes. I had to restart it twice before that convincing myself it will get better, they're just trying to shock you. No, no, it doesn't get better. Two references to masterbastion, two to breasts and I shut it off at Jim imagining someone starting to disrobe the second reference to breasts. That did it. That doesn't include references to gay bars, decapitation, and one use of the F word so far. This was only 17 minutes worth!! Does the author have NO sense of audience? Obviously, why did I ask. The main readers will be those who love the Cat Who series, who more likely aren't the biggest fans of trash... DUH.

What a shame!

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

I hope no one would enjoy a book that mocks good and moral writing.

What could Robert Kaplow have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

Not to have perverted a good series of stories.

What didn’t you like about Arte Johnson’s performance?

he was ok

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

All

Any additional comments?

The "The Cat Who.." series of books are a good clean read. Why can't this type of writing just be respected and not be mocked? For some reason I thought this book would be a similar type - not a total opposite! I don't believe it even deserves one star. Very disappointed I wasted my money on this trash.

This was AWFUL

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

The writing of this book was not satirical, it was just plain pathetic. Substituting masturbation in as some form of comical statement was in incredibly poor taste and if had not been that I thought a satirical book about the Braun series might have been fun, I would not have purchased this book. It was ultimately my most disappointing book from audible.

Would you be willing to try another one of Arte Johnson’s performances?

NO

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from The Cat Who Killed Lilian Jackson Braun?

most all of it. Horrid
