Slim’s phone doesn’t ring very often, so on the rare occasions that it does, he’s usually in for an adventure!

This time it’s a search and rescue operation for Miss Viola’s father, Woodrow, who went missing while making his daily rounds of the pastures. Unfortunately, the mission led by Hank, Slim, and Deputy Kile comes to a screeching halt when an unexpected Texas downpour turns the ranch roads to mud and strands their vehicles in a ditch. Now, it’s up to Viola to save the day and get the search team back on track.

But, when the rain finally lets up, they soon realize that the most bizarre part of this day wasn’t something any of them could have predicted!

I love this book so much!!! This really let me experience life on a ranch on a rain and mud adventure. The Dog should smell like a Dog song definitely deserved a replay for this story- such a funny one!

Absolutely stunning as always. Truly enjoy all of the Hank storys. From the first time we listened and throughout my life. Love the accurate descriptions of mud escapades and perfect descriptions of grumpy old men and soggy cowboys.

I love the fact that John Erickson actually reads the book and does the voices of the characters. To me this makes his version of the book so much better than any other person reading his book.

slow start, hilarious finish!

the bulk of action was actually a little slow for Hank (the only reason for 4 instead of 5 stars), but the resolution of the problem is just too incredibly funny to miss out on! highly recommend, as usual!
