Publisher's summary

Their daughter goes missing and they don't call the cops? That’s one of many...

...intriguing mysteries deliciously and intricately layered in this audiobook. Layer upon layer, twist upon twist, secret upon secret, this is a case tailor-made for a Sherlock Holmes devotee like private investigator Joey Mancuso. From the beginning, there’s just something funny about parents who didn’t report a missing student right away, and days later still want no police.

Hold it here! This is their beloved daughter, last seen leaving for a date. Why wouldn’t they want as much firepower as they can get? Because they know too much, that’s why - and Owen Parr’s clever detective senses that. Joey’s first job is to save the girl, but no way he’s going to stop there. The scrappy PI and ex-cop’s going to get answers if it kills him.

Which, of course, it nearly does. The body count soars as his brother and detective partner Father Dom, always the adult in the room, clucks, prays, and begs for caution - to no avail. The ruthless kidnappers have something huge to cover up…an operation involving stolen art that’s being used to finance one of the greatest evils on the planet. Once Joey knows that, he’s a runaway train.

A lot of the fun is in the clever Russian doll structure of a puzzle wrapped in a mystery, each discovery leading to a bigger and more surprising twist, but it wouldn't be half as delightful without the loveable series ensemble author Parr has assembled. The usual suspects are here - Marcy, Joey’s new wife and favorite FBI agent; researcher Agnes, who goes to Father Dom’s Mass every morning, presumably to repent for her shameless hacking. There’s also a welcome new addition - a professor who’s as close as you’re ever going to get to Indiana Jones.

Full of action and exotic locales, this PI series entry will appeal to action-adventure fans as well as those who can't get enough of hard-boiled New York detective stories.

Mancuso and O'Brian solve another one...

This is an excellent addition to the Joey Mancuso/Father O'Brian mystery series. This is book four and although it can be read as a stand alone I would suggest listening to this series in order. There are changes in location, procedures and relationships that are best read in the order they were written.
Mancuso is known as the victim's last advocate. When he's hired by a multi millionaire to find his kidnapped daughter, Mancuso doesn't know what to expect or the danger he and his team are in. He follows clues from NYC to Miami to the Virgin Islands. While in Miami he questions a pilot at a private charter, after leaving his car is shot at and a young woman trying to help him is found murdered. Now Mancuso and O'Brian have another case. They have to watch their step because now other alphabet agencies are getting involved.
When first hired they thought they were investigating a human trafficking organization. Instead this turned into something completely unexpected.
Mancuso comes up with one of his schemes to trap the person pulling the strings and responsible for multiple murders.
Fred Filbrich does an excellent job narrating.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Another suspense mystery winner from Owen Parr!

Owen Parr's Mancuso and O'Brian crime mystery series is about a private investigations business. The Case of the Antiques Collector is the 4th novel in this 5 star series. The protagonists are half brothers (same mother). Joey Mancuso is an unconventional former NYPD detective with the best case clearance record in department history. His brother and partner is Catholic priest Father Dominic O'Brian who inherited the family business, Captain O'Brian's Irish Pub and Cigar Bar in Manhattan, which is also the office of their PI business. This series is among the best, and may be THE best, modern detective mystery series currently available. The books are standalone, but I recommend listening to them in order. Narration is stellar.

This series has my HIGHEST POSSIBLE RECOMMENDATION!!

A fun mystery ride.

This is a well crafted Mystery with the usual twists and turns that will entertain most lovers
of this genre.

The Narrator does a great job in keeping the listeners interest and moving the story along.

Love these books

The story is riveting, keeps you wanting to know what happens next. You will not be dissatisfied or disappointed if you love a good mystery. Can not help but just love Joey, Father Dom and Mr Patrick. My advise start this series of books from the beginning and follow the cases and lives of these great well developed characters. You will not want to put them down. The narrator is great. Mr.Owen, more please.

I Enjoyed Listening to Another Owen Parr book.

Another great mystery story by Owen Parr. He did a lot of background on all his characters and locations they traveled. Joey Mancuso is once again in a complicated storyline with his new investigative team., Harry, Larry, Angus, Marcy, Patrick, and his brother Father Dominic. People seem to die after they are talked to by one of the team members. A very enjoyable book. I listened to the whole book read by Fred Filbrich who does a great job for each character. I highly recommend all Owen Parr's books as I go to book number 4 in the Father Mancuso stories.
