The Carrie Diaries is the coming-of-age story of one of the most iconic characters of our generation.
Before Sex and the City, Carrie Bradshaw was a small town girl who knew she wanted more. She's ready for real life to start, but first she must navigate her senior year of high school. Up until now, Carrie and her friends have been inseparable. Then Sebastian Kydd comes into the picture, and a friend's betrayal makes her question everything.
With an unforgettable cast of characters, The Carrie Diaries is the story of how a regular girl learns to think for herself, and evolves into a sharp, insightful writer. Readers will learn about her family background, how she found her writing voice, and the indelible impression her early friendships and relationships left on her. Through adventures both audacious and poignant, we'll see what brings Carrie to her beloved New York City, where her new life begins.

Sex and the City is an essay collection by Candace Bushnell that forever changed the cultural conversation about womanhood, relationships, and, yes, sex. Bushnell created the column "Sex and the City" for The New York Observer in 1994, and framed it as a humorous take on dating in Manhattan based on her own experiences. If that sounds familiar, you’re on the right track. Yes, it was exactly like the column Sarah Jessica Parker’s Carrie Bradshaw wrote on the hit television show Sex and the City, which made its dazzling entrance on HBO in 1998 and still hasn't left the pop culture scene.

With that said, I LOVED the narrator!!!!!! The narrator did all the voices just right. I almost thought it was Sarah Jessica Parker. The "laid-back" voice of the privileged, sardonic Kydd was dead on. I could feel the lies dripping from Kydd's voice--I mean the narrator's. Perfect!
A lot better than the grown-up Bushnell books

If you like the teen books, I think this will be a great read. It was not what I was expecting, and after a couple of hours, I was like, wait, is this labeled teen? Ms. Bushnell always is entertaining, great writer.
TEEN GENRE!!

Any additional comments?
There are soo many books that are far from reality, so this was a nice surprise. If only I could find more books like this one in the teen section. Finally
