Publisher's summary

Cornwall, 1793. As the French Revolution threatens the stability of England, so too is discontent brewing in the heart of Celia Cavendish. Promised to the brutal Viscount Vallenforth, she must find a way to break free from the bounds of a life stifled by convention and cruelty.

Celia enlists her neighbours, Sir James and Lady Polcarrow, in the hope of escaping her impending marriage and making a new life for herself. But can the Polcarrows' mysterious friend Arnaud, captain of the cutter L'Aigrette, protect Celia from a man who will let nothing stand in the way of his greed? And will Arnaud himself prove to be friend...or foe?

Sweet adventure love story.

Thoroughly enjoyed this book. Loved the way it was written and the narrator did a spectacular job performing all the parts. Just what I was looking for. A nice balance of adventure and love mixed well for a sweet little story. Having spent some time in Cornwall, this book took me back and it was like I was right there. I bought a hard copy of The Cornish Dressmaker while spending time in Falmouth and I look forward to reading that next! Highly recommend this book and hope to see more from Nicola Pryce.
