Publisher's summary

I'm pushing thirty.

My career sucks.

And for some reason, my landlady has made it her life's mission to make sure I walk down the aisle. But this time—she's gone too far! She rented the other side of my duplex to a guy she claims is hot eye candy, and get this: he has his own business!

Yep! He is 'The Bug Guy—Licensed to Kill.'

He and I did not get off on the right foot for a slew of reasons. But then—my 30th birthday bash happened and in a rare departure from my normal behavior, I totally lost all social inhibitions (with the help of tequila) and awoke to . . . total confusion! Did I mention I was totally naked and The Bug Guy's tee shirt was under my bed?

Just when I thought things couldn't get any weirder—well, I was proven oh-so-wrong!

Delightful!

Mallory works for the Wallerstein & Associates Collection Agency, a job that's "just a job." This isn't what she really wants to do because it's sometimes difficult to collect on debts that involve the needs of people's daily life. Brandon Johnson recently moved into her duplex and, unfortunately, shares a very thin wall. All times of the day and night, she can hear Brandon singing or his girlfriend exercising her vocals. It quickly becomes a situation of who can outdo the other with pranks or childish behavior and you can't help but laugh at them. They may have started as enemies, but they definitely became friends(wb). Brandon owns and operates "The Bug Guy," an extermination company complete with a work van and a big, fat cockroach overhead. He seems thoroughly dedicated to his work and entertains the reader with his play by play destruction. When Brandon and Mallory team up to go in search of critters, there is snark, fun and crazy! But not all is as it seems at Wallerstein & Associates or The Buy Guy and Andrea Smith gets to the bottom of the mystery with her signature sense of humor, a slight lack of filter and a dab of political incorrectness that made me giggle, yes, giggle! This is a delightful read that I highly recommend.

Suspense! Banter! This book has it all!

This romantic comedy goes in an hilarious direction! Mallory Jenkins has a busy-body landlord who is determined to find a suitable husband for her, despite Mallory's wishes. So Edna (land lady) rents the other side of her duplex to "The Bug Guy." Needless to say, things DO NOT get off to a good start. But it doesn't stop there! Mallory is trying to hook up with her mentor at work, but The Bug Guy knows more than Mallory does. The suspense is great! The banter is marvelous. I loved the narration (especially Edna Blumenthal's!) You will not be disappointed!

A Hilarious RomCom! Awesome Story & Listen🎧

This fabulous romantic comedy draws you right in, grabbing your attention and holding captive for the entire book. Despite not being present on the premises, Edna Blumenthal, Mallory Jenkins' senior citizen landlord, continues to play a major role in her life. She loves to meddle and is determined to find Mallory a husband, going as far to rent the adjoining apartment to hunk of a man who is single. Brandon Johnson, aka the bug guy, moves in and winds up getting under Mallory’s skin with little effort. Mallory gives him a piece of her mind in a note, and a not too pleased Brandon gives as good as he gets and responds with a note of his own and then some. Loved the shenanigans and the back-and-forth banter between these two. Mallory is transferred to the newly formed repo department of the company she works for and she is crushing on her new work partner. There is never a dull moment in this book, the writing, plot and world building are fantastic, as are the character growth and development. There is plenty of drama, angst, humor, some surprising twists and turns, heartfelt emotions and a slow burn, but a so worth the wait, romance. Andrea Smith, thank you for another amazing story, the laughs and the emotional rollercoaster ride.

🎧📚🎧  And for the terrific narration, Brooke Chambers, Alexander Cendese and Edna Blumenthal were the perfect cast to bring the characters and story to life. They had a complete understanding of the characters they were portraying, giving each a voice that was fitting, sounding believable in every role they played. These talented voice artists handled the witty dialogue with ease and landed the humor effortlessly and their duet performance enhanced the already fabulous story to another level. They set the perfect tone for the story, captured all the characters’ emotions and had you feeling every single one. These entertaining storytellers are a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for the fabulous listen.

Gotta Love THE BUG GUY!

This audio book was done so perfectly with having a three-narrator team it felt like I was right there on "Primrose Place" watching the hilarious events unfold. But it's more than just a romantic comedy. It's about how people can start off on the wrong foot, and totally misjudge one another because of that. I enjoyed the secondary characters as well, and the suspense that was tossed in left me wondering who exactly would come out on top! Love the old lady--she was a hoot!

Good Story..Narration is okay

I enjoyed the story and it really surprised me. I had no idea it was going where it went. I did enjoy the female MC job as it is different and not a normal female position. The back and forth between the two MC was fun but would be irritating in real life if it was happening to me.

I did listen to this on audio. This has a couple different narrators. Alexander Cendese does a good job and is a delight to listen to. Brooke Chambers does the female voices and is a first timer for me. I did not care for her vocals so much. She is very stilted (no flow) and a couple times I thought she was talking through a tunnel. I was not a fan of the sister (Julie) voice. It seemed nasally and grated on my nerves.

Overall the story is good and I was pleasantly surprised and enjoyed my time with it.

Andera has written a story that was cute as a bug! It checked every box on my smiles list. The narrator’s did a great job and they were delight to listen too. I loved it!

Great storyline!💜

I really enjoyed this book. For me It was similar to a Hallmark movie.
Slow burn, hilarious at times and suspenseful. I did expect more romance but it turned out to be a great book and the characters were so much fun!
The narration was mostly very good. Alexander Cendese did a fantastic job on all his characters. For the female characters, I loved the voices for Malory & Edna but not so much for Ginger & Julie. But it didn’t stop me for listening.
I loved how the main character was curvy but it wasn’t the main focus in the story. In fact it’s barely referenced at all. As a curvy woman myself, I really appreciated how the author told this story.
This is a standalone book with an HEA. I recommend this book.

One for the BBW and Dork

Mallory is pushing 30 and her career may be in the toilet, not to mention her new neighbor is a pain, a dork, and handsome. When her boss puts her on repo duty, things only become worse for Mallory. Now she must work in close proximity with the Italian Stallion, Brando (Marlin), as she calls him. But after her 30th birthday bash, and a bit too much too drink, things between Marlin and Brandon, the dork, are all a blur. Mallory has no memory of that night, only that Brandon's T-shirt is on her bedroom floor when she wakes up. But according to Edna, her elderly landlord, both men were seen carrying her into her apartment. Just when Mallory thinks she has the mystery figured out, things take a serious turn.

Brooke and Alex did an amazing job bringing these characters to life with comical senes and a bit of passion. The perfect RomCom.
