It’s okay

My boyfriend and I have experienced a lot of these over the three years we’ve been a couple with the exception of living with each other but we’re working on it. I felt from the title and summary , it would have advice but the advice is stuff we already understand how to handle. It’s okay because every few “numbers” I’d think to myself “yeah, that’s true”, which matches the title but I don’t know, I expected more. 2+ hours of listening to a women listing off a thousand possibilities in a relationship but no complete thought process.

Hard to follow

They only mention what the subject is in the first line of the chapter, then follow only with examples. This made it hard to be sure what I was supposed to be doing with the examples. I tried to stick through it but ended up stopping at chapter 8

good book of list about long term relationships

it's a good book about how relationships and the problems you will face in the long term. I do wish the narrator didnt have such a robotic voice. I dare you to listen to this with your partner.

Skip this one.

I never leave bad reviews but wow... I am a big fan of the no bullshit approach but this isn't it. This book is essentially a series of different lists, some about good things in relationships, some are just excessively negative.

Relationships aren't perfect by any means but having a chapter on all the ways men cheat thinking "it's not cheating" is bleak and unhelpful. (maybe recommend negotiating monogamy and discussing what cheating means to each person instead?)

The heteronormative narrative, the gender stereotypes and the "one size fits all" "take it or leave it" approach is dated and harmful. For example the author says, " if you sleep in the same bed there's no reason as to why you're not having sex multiple times a week even if you're mad at each other". This makes sex sound more like an obligation while also dismissing potentially different sex drives and how stress levels affect each partner. (not to mention dismisses the fact that partners can be asexual and in completely happy relationships).

If you want actual advice on healthy relationships, there are so many better books out there and I suggest you do yourself the favor and read them instead.

Boring

No story. No life lessons. No substance.

And not worth the time. Save your money.

Was helpful! Not too many swear words. Worth going through!

I’m in the PUA community and looking to settle down.

I’ve set a goal to get married within a few years and then have kids. This is helpful to know what to expect. It won’t hurt.

The people here complaining there was too much swearing are a bunch of babies! It wasn’t much swearing at all!

Narration wasn’t bad. Wasn’t outstanding narration, but wasn’t bad either.

Very negative

Narrator had a very nice voice but I found the content negative. I’m glad it was included in the subscription because I would be upset if I wasted a credit in it.

What the F-Bomb

The over use of the f-bomb totally overshadowed any useful information for my liking.
