All I want for Christmas is a New NK Jemisin Book

I have only one other author that excites me as NK does, that's Anne Bishop, her Black Jewels Trilogy has always been my all time favorite books. These two authors never put fluff into their books. Every word, every character serves a purpose. Nothing is ever just thrown in to fill the pages to meet a publishers dead line. Soooo hopefully if you've never read her, you will give her a chance.

another great series by this author

This is the third series by this author that I've listen to on audiobook. The first series was great, second I got bored and gave up on, but the broken kingdoms is probably my favorite. you have to be patient as the story starts out slow but the results are worth the wait. characters are given time to develop slowly and the World building is awesome.

this one could be skipped

I was so disappointed in this book, starting with names that aren't even pronounced the same as in the previous books. This one lends nothing to the story, the characters aren't particularly likable/enjoyable, and I found myself frequently bored. Skip this one - I returned it.

The adventure continues!

Excitement and sorrow, thrills and heartache. This is a great 2nd book in the series. Cassandra is awesome again as the narrator of this epic tale.

1st book =5 but 2nd book...

I loved the 1st book in the inheritance series. 2nd books plotline was weak. I would give it only a 3 when 1st book got a 5+

story was good, but narrator is flat

I almost did not finish because it was the same narrator as the first book, but I wanted to hear the story.

An amazing book

N. Jemisin is a amazing science fiction/fantasy writer. She intermingles deep science in an explainable way mixed with a wonderful fantasy world that is very realistic in that it could even be our planet 100’s even 1000’s of years in the fourrure. Casaunsra Freeman is perfect for this series. I looked up her other books she’s narrated because she is that good.

Great sequel & stand-alone story

I enjoyed more than the first. Told from a very micro-perspective that doesn't really tie to the title. Jemisin does a good job wrapping it up as well. Looking forward to the next in the series.
