Publisher's summary

The Broken Eye continues the spectacular Lightbringer series from the New York Times best-selling author of The Black Prism and The Blinding Knife.

As the old gods awaken and satrapies splinter, the Chromeria races to find the only man who can still end a civil war before it engulfs the known world. But Gavin Guile has been captured by an old enemy and enslaved on a pirate galley. Worse still, Gavin has lost more than his powers as Prism—he can't use magic at all.

Without the protection of his father, Kip Guile will face a master of shadows as his grandfather moves to choose a new Prism and put himself in power. With Teia and Karris, Kip will have to use all his wits to survive a secret war between noble houses, religious factions, rebels, and an ascendant order of hidden assassins called The Broken Eye.

Stormlight Archives meets King Killer Chronicals

The whole series is great; audio performance as well. I knew who was speaking before attribution, by intonation alone. I am emotionally invested in this universe. So, if you share books with a fantasy/sci fi reading friend and they recommend this? Heed the push.

Just When You Think You Have It Figured Out...Bam!

The Broken Eye is the third in a four book series which will keep you on the edge of your seat. Every time I think I had it figured out, Brent Weeks threw me for a curve. You will learn to love and hate almost every character in this story. My only objection is this book had an uncomfortable amount of torture. Truly looking forward to the Black Mirror and to finally learn who will win and who will survive (and how many fingers and eyes they retain) in this bigger than epic story.

Awesome Series

This series started out like a fun distraction, but has evolved over time into a nuanced, emotionally resonant journey.

Brent Weeks does a fantastic job of providing a relatable perspective for each character, and I think it may be is the best narration I've heard in any series.

Book one may seem light and fun, but it is really just setting the stage. Highly Recommended!

If I could give the performance more stars I would. The reader drew me in and kept me there. It was amazing.

Where does The Broken Eye rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Excellent. Brent Weeks is always a solid listen.

What about Simon Vance’s performance did you like?

Everything, because he's not the first book's narrator.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Not giving spoilers.

Any additional comments?

Hurry up with the last book in the series Mr Weeks! The end of this one just leaves me with more questions, and I want to know darn it!

Brent Weeks is a master

amazing, a must read for fantasy fans, a new standard. the reader is very good except for the voice he uses for every older male authority figure. otherwise excellent performance.
