Publisher's summary

Would you marry an alien to save the life of a family member?

Maya Arnold was leading an ordinary life, working a boring job, helping care for her sick sister, and watching too much TV with her mom on the old couch. Then the aliens arrived.

Offering a cure for cancer in exchange for women willing to volunteer as brides, the Cerasteans dangle the one carrot Maya cannot resist: a way to save her sister. Follow Maya as she joins the Bride Program and finds adventure, friendship, and love.

Commander D’Avii and the surviving Cerastean males have been searching the galaxy for a new home since the mysterious destruction of their planet. Finding Earth and its women was a miracle.

Like most Cerasteans, Commander D'Avii finds humans to be fascinating creatures - none more so than bride volunteer Maya. His attraction to her is instant and intense. Still he knows Maya can never choose him, a warrior, with so many higher-caste scientists seeking their own mates. To do so would shame the scientists and tear the last of his people apart, yet he aches at the loss of something he never even had.

An Easy Read

I enjoyed listening to this book. It was funny And entertaining. It was refreshing to listen to a romance story that was not mostly sex scenes. I have found that too many authors write mostly sex scenes in their romance story. I will purchase the next book in this series.

Quick and straight to the point

Quick and straight to the point... great short and hot story. I thought it was romantic and cute between the characters. It was surprisingly that the aliens adapted quick to what humans wanted. Anyways the narrator did great job bringing the characters to life. I hope there are more stories about the other girls as well.

Exceeded expectations ❤

New author and narrator for me. Really enjoyed this and found it very interesting. Trying more sci-fi and loving the focus on cultural differences. Wasn't sure this was going to have a hea and liked the idea, but it has a hot af hea. My one beef, too short! Verla is a new narrator to check out.

It's ok

Honestly this wasn't that funny or sexy. There are parts I liked and maybe I'll check out this series of novellas on Kindle Unlimited if they are part of it, but I wouldn't spend money/credits on these books.

I liked the characters and I liked the world building, but with such a short story a lot is missing. I honestly expected the romance part to kick off before the last 45minutes of the book so that the story would focus on their relationship with culture clashes. It felt like it was a missed opportunity for what was basically a slow burn.

The worst part was the narration. Verla Bond had a hard time with character voices and her cadence was very choppy and stiff. Maybe this was her first narration job and maybe she'll get better, but there is no way I'm going to listen to her narration with this series.

Sweet Sci-Fi love story!

This story is mutual and consensual. D'Avii and Maya have instant chemistry, but the alien's caste system makes their love forbidden. The one thing in their favor is that the aliens desperately need human brides. The women have too much time on their hands and find themselves in serious yet comical conditions. I love the patience of these aliens. It's amazing how negotiating can solve so many concerns. Too bad that can't happen in real life. The narrator does an excellent job of portraying the emotions of these characters. I recommend this Audible book. It is a quick short love story covering the love of family, friends, and mates. All sides win in this story.

Surprisingly Sweet

This isn’t my typical genre, but I enjoyed this story. This isn’t brutish aliens kidnapping earth women to have their way with them.

Maya volunteers for the Bride Program with hopes her younger sister can get healed. Everything is mutual and consensual. It’s an “adult” story but I enjoyed the sweetness that formed between the human and the alien.

So glad I have this one a chance!

Delightful, Slow Burn SciFi Alien Rom Com

Take some blistering hot, horned, reptilian other world Aliens who think when you say something is “so cute you want to just eat it up” you mean you want to well ... actually eat it. Mix in a few bored, smart, savvy prospective brides for said Aliens, add expert narration, and you get three hours of pure unadulterated listening pleasure! The Bride Program is a five star no hold barred laugh out loud delight!

I just loved this start to this new series. I listened to the audiobook in one afternoon and started the next book in the series immediately. Verla Blond did a fabulous job bringing these characters to life.

This is awesome

This is the first book in a series written by Ms. Griggs and I have loved loved everyone of them. I read them all thru Kindle and was so happy to see this one was on Audible. First it's a super sweet romantic alien love story that is different in its concept and that's what hooked me from the start. Instead of an abduction story or one trading weapons or technology for brides, this one had the greatest trade I could imagine....... A CURE for cancer and many other illnesses that plague our planet. Wow, guys how much could we use this now. Wouldn't that be the greatest reason in the world to agree to volunteer to be in their program?? So on that premise our girl agrees in order to save her little sisters life. Maya is loving and kind and immediately is drawn to our hero, D'Avii. Now here's a book boyfriend that everyone will love. He is attracted to her from the first but feels like he doesn't stand a chance due to his races caste system. But true love of course will prevail and his species is so gracious and truly fascinated with human women and treat each one like a treasure!!! It's such a wonderful story and series. I can't recommend it enough. Give this a try and if you are like me and like your ladies to be smart and courageous you will love Maya. Plenty of sexy hot alien times for you to enjoy.

Light Short Novel

This is a great short story that you can finish in a day. No heavy plot but I love it the lightness of it. I'm glad I listened to The Bride Program as before this story I was listening to something dark and very heavy. So, if you want something light you should listen to this.

The only thing that I didn't like was the narrator's voice (a little nasally) but throughout the whole story I got used to it.
